(no subject)
so thursday afternoon was my swear in. the paper work took close to 1 hour. once it was all done i now belong to the forces. so anything happens, a prescription, dentist work, jury duty, witness testmony, arrest, etc has to be reported to the recruitment center. there was a delay after the paper work due to travel delays. the defense minister was in the area so they scheduled him to do it but he was delayed after his flight (prolly a hortins run) gettin to the center. the centers captain did an intro, then the deffense minister did a greetin and then the swear ins. there was only 3 of us to get sworn in. myself, an older guy who has already served 20yrs and retired for 10yrs and now rejoining and a 19-20yr old kid who showed up in jeans an untucked in casual dress shirt and a BASEBALLL HAT. the oathe itself i expected to be close to the same length as wedding vows but no its was maybe 20words long. after we were all sworn in, there was a group photo of the swearees, their family, the minister and the the recruitment centre staff. they had a plate of sandwiches, tea, coffee and 2 boxes of timbits. me and mom stayed for almost an hour then came home. i was spent due to my cold wwhen we got, had enuf energy to come close to finishing a 5 page form i will continually have to fiullout so they said to fill it out and photo copy it so we dont have to continually look up the info, eat and then took a nap at 530ish to 830pm. got up finish some paper work, watch tv and bed for the nite.
so far b4 my fight i have a list of things to get, finish a form or 2 and write an autiobiography. yesterday i already started on the list so now most of whats left are dollarstore things. the forms are finished. and autiobiography rough draft is almost done so just to finish the last 2 paragraphs and re-write it neatly. might finish it tomorrow b4 and during work. possibly after my shift i can meet up wif janice.
overall, i dont think i have that much rushing around to do. cud be much worse.
my flight is out of the local airport it is scheduled to depart at 810am so i will have to check in an hour b4 my flight, i believe thats the rule now so i will have to be there b4 7am. and then the flight is sheduled to land at 1008 but that flight usually onlt takes 45mins and no time change so will prolly land early adn then the next flight isnt til 12noon and then its 2-3hrs in flight and land. meet recruit sgt near baggage claim and get on the bug to the base. theres some type of sign in upon gettin on base and who knows after that.
i am not allowed to take laptop, dvd player, some other elctronics but can take cell but cannot use til after 6pm. so i may be able to update status on crackbook and twitter. i do plan on bringing a journal and letter paper so i have some addresses (kim text me yer new one or no letters for u!) so i can write my friends. but im not even concerned about homesickness, i know it wont really happen to me or at least not in the dramatic i wanna go home way.
