Me and Joe spent a nice evening together. We went to dinner (to make me feel better). Red Lobster cheddar biscuits are the surest cure for the blues! :)
And then we were driving down Knox Abbott and there was a beautiful rainbow. I mean I could even see the violet. The hues of the colors were overwhelming. So, Joe drove us down to the State St park just under the Gervais St bridge. I'd never been down there (even tho one of our friends does sound for the concerts in the park that are held in that amphitheatre). It's purty down there. Especially in the twilight around 8pm. We saw some *huge* fish just off the banks and then we went walking to find how to get down to the river so we could fish. And then we went into the woods on the path and the green glow of the trees in the dying light was breathtaking. The fireflies came out and they were just warm glowing sparks lighting their way to some good sex. (You did know that that is what firefly lights are for, right? To find them mates...and each species of firefly has its own pattern of glow...it's alot like Morse Code.) It was all very romantic for Joe and I.
And then the storm that was brewing earlier started flashing its lightning around. We decided it was time for some dessert at Krispy Kreme - but it took us a long time to get it. We got back on Knox Abbott and Father Sky started putting on a spectacular show of lightning for us. The clouds were walking around the hills on stilt like legs of lightning. So, we pulled into the K.K.'s back lot and took down the tail gate and watching lighting and felt thunder for awhile. It was awe-inspiring. Divine, even. It's always good to feel that close to nature. We get so far away from it in our helter skelter lives - and that's just not healthy. Everyone needs a good dose of Momma Nature to get us back on track. :)
I had a much better night than I did day.
