Battlestar Finale, Bad Luck w/Good Inside Sorta, Techie Questions

First of all, hi there, new friends. *Waves*

So, I’m trying to get all sorts of things done tonight before the season finale of Battlestar, including writing creepy post “Maelstrom” fic with lyssie, which shall probably grow to 200 pages and not be posted for six months, like most of our epics! Though sadly, I’m just not as excited about the show without Kara. No spoilers, but clearly she’s my POV character and without her around, I just can’t care as much. I really hope that isn’t true tonight. Either way, it’s gonna be a long wait until January!

Also, I must agree with what I’ve seen other people saying. There’s no way I care about a Pegasus focused movie! I care about the people we see every week. There’s so many in the regular cast who don’t get enough screen time. Why would I want to watch a movie about a different ship or crew, let alone pay MONEY to buy it? I really don’t understand what they are thinking, creatively or financially to think that is a good idea. If it couldn’t be a bridge story between the seasons, then more about the back story or history of our regular cast would be just as interesting.

In other news, I'm now addicted to a cheezy reality show that has people working to get to play Sandy or Danny on Broadway this summer. "Grease, You're the one that I want" or something like that after watching a marathon of it today on Bravo. Fandom friends, you have totally let me down not telling me about this until now! The winners are being picked tonight in the finale on NBC apparently, so at least I'm gonna be done with this one fast. I'm rooting for Max, the quirky funny guy and Laura, the brunette. I'm such a geek, but I love musical theater and it has been fun seeing the compeition so far while I've been cleaning around the house.

By the way, “it is an ill wind that blows no good,” as I think Sam Gamgee says at some point. I had a flat tire that was a big hassle and annoyance a month or so ago. However, when we got the donut tire out of the trunk, one of my favorite CDs that I’d given up for lost long ago was actually down in the well, underneath the spare. My CD changer is in the trunk, though I hardly ever switch out the discs, since I have such a short drive to school right now. Hmm, I haven’t changed them since December now, the last time I drove out of town.

Anyway, so I was so excited to find it. Sadly, only the first two tracks will play. It is so smudged and scratched from the year or more under the spare tire! I’ve tried cleaning it with Windex and polishing it. Does any one have any other suggestions for restoring playability? It isn’t cracked at least. Sadly, I suppose I’ll just have to give up and throw it out and that makes me sad. Oh well, at least I don’t have to wonder where it vanished to anymore. Another argument for importing all my music into I Tunes, I guess. I have about four days of music copied now though, but my computer won’t burn discs anymore. I’d stopped bothering to copy until I upgrade my machine.

Another quick technical question, anyone use Bluetooth with their cell phones? If my computer at school keeps saying to me, “Mobile device in range, do you wish to personalize now?” Doesn’t that sound like someone is using their phone or texting close enough to the computer to set it off? Or on the same frequency? The tech people at school are being annoying and not really answering my questions. I’ve never synched my phone to the machine, though it is Bluetooth capable. I take phones away all the time, until class is over. In this case, I think someone in the room was using it to cheat on a test and I didn’t catch them in time. I was distracted by all these alert messages that kept popping up and only later did I figure out what they might mean.

Hmm, I still need to pay bills and sort out what I’m wearing to the job fair tomorrow. I think I might need to buy hose still, ugh! I wish interviews didn’t fall in the same week as state wide testing. I am really going to try to update more regularly though. I’m always thinking of things I mean to write entries about and then not finding time. As always, I’m behind on comments as well and just reading my friends list lately. Spring Break in a week though! I can’t wait. I will have a nine whole days, including the weekend, to rest relax and most important get caught up on all the things I’m behind on in fandom-oh and real life as well, of course!
