Yesterday afternoon by Union Square Park this WONDERFUL old lady with HUGE glasses and a little tailored coat was feeding walnuts to squirrels, and they were crawling right up to her hand and taking the walnuts with their mouths. I sat watching, entranced, for a few minutes before she started talking to me, and she said, in some kind of an Eastern European accent, that since she didn't have any children the animals were her children.
TODAY when I was waiting in line at the fitting room in H&M this other old lady was going on about how everything at H&M is so cheaply made, but it didn't matter for her anyhow because she was going to a clog factory. I said, "a what factory?" and she said, "what? A poor country. Bulgaria."
Also, (not from H&M) PERFECT UNDERWEAR... I can't find a picture of it online, but they're white with red mushrooms and red eyelet, and it's like someone at Forever 21 designed underwear with only me in mind.
Now I have to write a statement of purpose that will convince people that I need a PhD in Cinema Studies... The plan is to segue from The Little Mermaid to the ability of the lens to both create and capture worlds, polysyllabic word, polysyllabic word..."That's my report." Matthew did a report in fourth grade on tree frogs or something, and that was actually the last sentence of the written portion.
