A girl and her scooter, and the games they play...

So, I frequently stop by at the grocery store on my way home from work, thinking that I'll just pop in and grab a few odds and ends to revive the veggie drawer and fruit bowl. Since I am typically a bit hungry at 8 pm, though, that plan is almost invariably waylaid and I ALWAYS end up getting a great big enormous load of groceries to last the week. This isn't a bad thing at all, because I need to do the grocery shopping, but it often ends up requiring careful engineering because "on my way home from work" means "on my scooter".

My scooter does NOT have any carrying racks on it at the moment. It has a glovebox, and that's it for storage space. However, this hasn't stopped me from getting obscene amounts of groceries home on it, to the amazement of my fellow shoppers (who are getting a bag of groceries in their SUV).

Yesterday evening might have been a record, even for me, so I documented it with photos.

Note that the vase with the rose and the "happiness is being married to a german" mug were not included in the shopping trip.

Unpacked:

There was a mega-sale on the soups in cartons, by the way.

Here's a diagram for how this all fit on my scooter (which is seafoam green instead of red and has cowl protectors suitable for wedging milk cartons behind, but otherwise identical).

The baggers are always really confused by my request to have one really full paper bag and then the rest in really full plastic bags, with milk cartons (and pumpkins) separately. Yesterday, even more so, since both the cashier and the bagger seemed to be in a somewhat altered state of reality. Aah, Friday nights at the Ballard Market.

I feel like Mary Poppins.
