A Busy Weekend of Yardwork & Outings!

Reese & Sleep are amazing when it comes to helping us with the outdoor work! They cleaned up the tree debris from the edges of the driveway (which gets put into the chicken enclosure) thus saving my back from the shoveling, and then trimmed back the heather by the garage, and THEN they cleared back the blackberries and weeds from our eastern line of rhodies & put down weed barrier and garden mulch under them to help keep those weeds back! Things look so much more neat and classy!

Once again, Cat had a conversation with Reese about why Reese does all these chores-- and yet again, Reese attempted to explain that it relaxes her. She comes here all tensed up and leaves feeling great! Just the chance to be outside in all the green doing things feels right to her. She wants to be a part-time farmer for a living! The idea that Reese & Sleep love the exercise is just odd to Cat. She exercises regularly now for health reasons, but the idea of enjoying physical activity as a fun past time for it's own sake is barely comprehensible for her.

Meanwhile, Cat and Rhonda had fun driving around looking at properties and the various stores and entertainment options in our area. Cat mentioned how she liked that Rhonda & Reese are into Legos and "antiquing" (when I'm not into these things) and it would be fun to run around with them sometimes. And I get it. My issues mean I can't go out as often, and I'm sure that can get plenty boring for Cat! They ended up going out to dinner together before returning to Heron House.

Mike has been more social of late, coming out to chat with a glass of wine when we gather in the evenings to just hang out and talk after each busy day. It's nice to have him joining us!

My sister has come out to join us during hang outs as well, thus giving everyone a chance to get more comfortable around one another. I think Erica really liked that. She gets very lonely living with my mother.

I've stayed a homebody this round. I had a migraine in the middle of everything, so I didn't want to trigger another by going out into the bright sunlight for a couple of days. There's been this whirlwind of activity around me for days now, and it feels rather strange. I managed to get some sweeping of decks and blowing off of the driveway, but that's all I had in me.

... and we didn't get to put anything up on my walls this trip. But that's okay, my room wasn't clean enough in my opinion. I had too many flares in the last month to finish my room.
