Covid-19 Updates: 5,233 Cases In My County, 71 Deaths

Feb 04, 2021 14:28

Cases are up by 210+ this last week, and deaths are up by 7. Both numbers are down from the previous 2 weeks which averaged 250 or so cases per week and 10 deaths per week. Obviously, it's not down by much, but Kitsap is trying to get to Phase 2 in order to lift more restrictions here.

Not this week, though-- we're in Phase 1 still for the week. If we reach the numbers the governor put down, we'll be able to get to Phase 2.

Which may make a difference to government and businesses, but not to me. I'm still on lockdown mostly for the foreseeable future.

Cat and I had our first "Errand Day" in a couple of months to buy a few supplies-- wearing N95s and going at dawn for groceries and thence everywhere else we had to (like my depositing a check and picking up meds.) We're also having more things delivered when possible. However, there is a serious downside to delivery that not many are talking about: BOXES.

We're getting buried under boxes. We keep them in our covered area out back and break them down and cut them up when we can. But it's cold, and my hands are notoriously weak, and Cat doesn't get around to it enough, and the result is that slowly, more and more boxes are piling up. Dealing with the boxes and packing for all the deliveries is driving me a little mad. Most of it is from Cat of course, who still has the option for "Retail Therapy" and uses it and then complains about not saving more. (Le sigh..!) And I'd just roll my eyes over it except for those boxes!

I know, I know... first world problems, amirite?

Life slogs on. February thru March is traditionally the hardest period of the year for me. The light starts returning and my mood starts plunging. A pandemic last year at this time was new and exciting (if scary) but now--? It's just more of the same old without any break up and I'm ready to be done with it. If only my mortal wishes mattered, right?

Onward!
