Random Granada!series picspam: Episode 5x05 The Illustrious Client

There is someone running in the forest to reach a woman who is lying on the ground, gravily wounded.
Baron's Wife: Why did you push me, Baron?
Baron Gruner: Dear wife, you're dreaming.
Baron's wife: You're lying.
The woman dies.

OMG NAKED MEN! TURKISH BATH! Do I need to say more?

Holmes let Watson read a letter about a Colonel Sir James Damery that needs their assistance. (Holmes says: He has some real need of our assistance).
So married.
Watson: Our?
Holmes: If you'll be so good, Watson.
Watson: I shall be honored.
Holmes: *smile*
(Flirting as teenagers)

Change of scene. At Baker Street, Sir James Damery is explaining his problem. They start talking about Baron Gruner.
Holmes: The Austrian murderer.
Damery: So you've already sized him up as a murderer?
Lovely moment where Watson is answering instead of Holmes. (Married moment #2)
Watson: It is our business to follow the details of Continental crime.
Holmes talks about the incident/murder that we watched at the beginning of the episode and he states that he is sure Baron murdered the woman.
However, Sir James Damery continues explaining about the daughter of General Merville: Violet. But she married the murderer Baron because she loves him.
But Sir James Damery is not the real client but just an intermediary. Holmes seems irritated and decides to not accept the case.
Still, Damery keeps talking.
Damery: To sum up, she proposes to marry him next month.

Holmes moves near the door and suddenly... he opens it.
Holmes: Mrs Hudson!
Mrs Hudson: You rang, sir?
Poor woman X3

Holmes decides to accept the case. He asks Damery where they can find him and with a gesture orders Watson to write the address. Domesticity and married moment #3.
Holmes seems pleased and surprised when Watson asks some question to their client.

Watson: What further information can you give us about the man?
Damery: He has expensive tastes [...] he collects Chinese pottery. He's a recognized authority.

Finally, before leaving, Damery asks Holmes not to trace the real client.
Holmes: I think I can safely promise that.

Holmes visits Baron Gruner who knows what the case is all about and suggests that Holmes draw off.
(I just noticed how beautiful are Jeremy Brett's eyes. Are they grey/green?)
Baron Gruner threats Holmes è_é but Holmes remains unruffled.

Change of scenery.
Watson returns home and asks about Holmes but Mrs Hudson informs him that there are two visitors: a man and a lovely red-haired woman named Kitty Winter.
The man is Johnson and is there because Holmes asked him to. Some seconds later Holmes arrives too complaining about traffic.

Kitty: If I can help put him [Baron Gruner] where he belongs I'm yours to the rattle, sir.
Kitty says that she is the proof of Baron Gruner's cruelty.
Kitty: If I was to stand before her [Violet] and tell her how he used me. [...] He collects women.
Holmes wants Kitty to talk with Violet Merville and the only thing Kitty wants is to see Baron Gruner in the  mud.
I love her character and how the show decided to portray her.

After the two visitors leave, Holmes receive a death treath. Watson is horrified.
Watson: Holmes, have a care.
They leave Baker Street to go eating on a date.
At the same time, someone follows and attack Johnson and Kitty but they manage to defend themselves and escape. Baron Gruner is not happy.

Kitty and Holmes try to talk with Violet but she accuses them of lying until Kitty finally shows her the scars that Gruner left her.
Violet: It's a lie. It's a lie.

Kitty explains to Holmes that the Baron has a book with all the photoes of the women he collected.
After that... OMG HOLMES IS ATTACKED!
This is my favourite part, where Watson is coming home and he hears about Holmes (in the newspaper) and he face becomes suddenly worried and horrified.

Holmes: It's all right Watson, don't look so scared.
Watson: You mustn't talk.
Holmes: Nonsense, I need to.
Watson: What can I do, Holmes? (he is whispering ;_; this scene is breaking my heart ndlucre) Of course it was that damned Austrian. Give me the word and I'll go and thrash the hide off him.
Holmes: Good olde Watson. No, no, no, no.
[...]
Holmes: We must exaggerate my injuries.
Watson: There's no need for that.
Holmes: Even so we must lay it on thick for the press. [...] Put my pipe on the table and the tobacco slip.
Watson: You must rest not smoke.
Holmes: Very well, Doctor.

And now Sherlock's plan. Do you remember the Chinese pottery? Holmes asks Watson to study Chinese pottery so he can fake himself as an expert (with the fake name of Hill Barton) and distract the Baron while Holmes steal the book with the photoes.
Holmes: Watson, I need you to do something for me.
Watson: I'm here to be used.
Holmes: Then spend the next 24 hours in an intensive study of Chinese pottery.

And poor old Watson studies a lot while taking care of Holmes with Mrs Hudson.

At the Baron's house Watson manages to gain some time but at the end Baron Gruner recognizes him as Doctor Watson and threats to kill him with a gun. Fortunately a noise catches Gruner's attention: it's Holmes!
Gruner is about to kill Holmes when Watson intervenes and suddenly Kitty enters into the room and splash some acid into Gruner's face. That's her revenge before running away.
Holmes takes the book while Watson tries to help the Baron.

The episode ends with Holmes giving the book to Damery so that he can show it to Violet that still loves the Baron after the incident that left him scarred for life. With the book, Violet will finally discover the real nature of his lover.
(Excited Watson discovers the identity of the real client but Holmes already knows all about him X3 poor Watson)
