Several interesting recent events:
1.) Realizing that I'd been accidently depositing checks into my brother Eric's bank account for a month. It happened as a result of a mixup with our checkbooks. I had his in my purse for some reason, and thought it was mine (and no, his name was not on it. Haha.) It all got cleared up, Eric is now $228 richer, and my dad was nice enough to write me a check for the money I accidently gave him.
2.) Going to Hooters with Mike and engaging in an epic battle with the oysters. They may be invertebrates, but they definitely fight back. We actually got cuts on our fingers trying to pry them open because the knife kept slipping. After trying to open one oyster for ten minutes straight, Mike finally took it outside and began smashing it against the sidewalk. At that moment a man came out to smoke a cigarette and just stared at Mike...I can only imagine how he must have looked, lol. Thankfully, he did manage to finally open it. He said he was on the verge of running it over with his truck if he couldn't.
3.) Getting yelled at by a crazy homeless lady in New Haven. Mike's sister Erin and I were waiting for him to pick us up outside of Subway when I suddenly heard someone shout, "Hey, you!! Can you get me an iced coffee?" I didn't realize the question was directed at me until I looked up. The homeless woman said in a tone dripping with sarcasm, "Oh, let me guess. You can't AFFORD it." She then proceeded to stalk down the street hollering, "I LOVE this country! I'm poor and no one will get me an iced coffee. No one will even TALK to me!!" Erin had her pepper spray ready, but the woman didn't return. She clearly didn't improve her chances of getting an iced coffee by running around screaming at everyone. She may have improved her chances of getting arrested, but I doubt they would have given her an iced coffee in jail. I wouldn't have minded buying her one if she wasn't being so obnoxious.
...And those have been my last three weeks. I'll update again later.
