Poor Harrison had been a poorly car for a while. The nasty loud clatter at low revs was always a little worrying. The way the car shook between 65 and 70mph was a little disconcerting as well. I have no real need for a car. I get the tram to work every day, and I am now living walking distance from Flickums (it's a very short walk from my flat to my flat). But occasionally it would be useful. For example, I want to get some dead bed to the dump. I'd like to carry lots of stuff to the dump. It would be nice to be able to visit other ( Read more... )

My poor car has breathed his last. Engine started to rattle a couple of weeks ago. Put in oil. Took him for a run. Rattle got worse. Took it to the mechanic. "Not heard a noise like that before".

Verdict was that the engine would need a rebuild. Not sure it's worth it. So I  drove it home assuming it would get me to a used car dealer a couple of ( Read more... )

So, after the drive to Coventry, my car started spewing out lots of steam and got very very hot. Stopped at a petrol station, refilled the coolant. Got me home.
