"you can only blame your problems on the world for so long"

My writer's block has miraculously disappeared now that I got a few things done that I've been putting off for a long time. However, I've lost a lot of motivation as I'm worrying to point of paralysis about other issues. I'm offically now one of those people who has too many degrees and has nothing to show for it because I'm so overqualified. I'm positive things will be better in the new year, but I'm not holding out for a miracle.

In less depressing news, Fall Out Boy's Folie à Deux leaked and it's amazing. Some people hate it because Pete's isn't letting people into his soul with his lyrics. He's telling the story of a character based on himself who gets into the Hollywood scene and desperately needs to get out. Can you tell why I love this album?

I've never cared about an artist writing lyrics that let me into their soul. I just want some good lyrics and music. I don't need to have a personal connection with any artist because at the end of the day it's all about what I can get from the art. How I can I use it for my own creative and personal endeavors. They say writers are the biggest users. I'm going to say that's true in my case.

For me Folie à Deux is the soundtrack for Where Things are Hollow (now completed). I particularly see "The (Shipped) Gold Standard" as the anthem for Rihanna and Patrick because of lyrics like :

"I want to scream I love you from the top of my lungs.
But I'm afraid that someone else will hear me."

and

"You can blame your problems on the world for so long.
Before it all becomes the same old song.
As soon as we hit the hospital I know we're gonna leave this town.
And keep new passports and get out now."

The lyrics makes me think that I wasn't being too heavy handed with the theme of Hollywood being empty, and that makes me very happy.

And redcandle17, I'm working of the 28 Days Later ficlet. I promise it'll be posted before Christmas.
