Greetings from the Great Beyond (also known as Texas)
First off, my apologies for being so absent over recent months. Many, many, changes in the Land o' Luck...
For starters, I met the love of my life. He's a crime scene detective that I had a crush on for years. Thanks to a nosey and meddlesome Rizzoli, he and I are eating crow... Lots of "I will never date again" turned to "I will never get remarried" to "What size ring do you wear?"
We moved in together in September, right after we celebrated his 50th birthday. We found out that we're expecting our first child together in October. I'm due June 5th. And here, on the eve of my 35th birthday, I'm amazed to learn that while I was truly and totally happy without him, I've found a whole *new* level of happy that I didn't know existed. Yes, friends, I get it now. Sorry it took me so long.
This has put a bit of a damper on the DEA gig and pending tests for patrol officer, but there is still plenty of time for those things later. As much as I've tired of my current position, I am still earning a decent living and have the opportunity to help people daily. Plus I work at the same department as the boy (who shall be henceforth referred to as "Gibbs," as in the NCIS hottie, because that's how I think of him), which makes life easy.
SO... I hope all of YOU are doing well. I miss being in better touch and hearing about your adventures, but I trust you are having quite the adventure yourselves. I will try to be better about posting. Happy holidays, y'all!
