(no subject)
move in day is here! these two weeks of training have gone by SO fast! i don't know what happened to the time. i do know that they were more amazing and fun filled then i could have ever thought. from sweats at a formal dinner, to late night forest walks and back in black to 2 hour wal mart runs with hot $1 hats, i have had an amazing time. i can tell it's going to be a great year!
wednesday we had some quality staff/exec planning time early in the a.m. the execs are so fun. we are going to have a good time fo sho in wentz this year. the chancellor put on a picnic for all the university staffers around lunch time. after that i picked up my books-only four AND i didn't have to buy any! i was so pumped. the author of my nutrition book is a person named whitney (the name of the campus cafeteria). how ironic... we had a fun-filled resource fair in the afternoon. i got lots of info and free stuff and saw bunches of people like monfre, fischer, reuben, larsi and other quality people i haven't seen since spring. in the evening there was a mystery dinner which was good times. sarah, our vp, was my hot date. woo-hoo! we had to dress in olympics theme, so we all wore blue (like a pool) and john, anne and ben dressed in swim suits and caps. how awkward! but enjoyable. i went out with ash and kel to perkins later in the eve. while waiting for kel, ash and i wandered drake and got all nostalgic about last year. tear. ash and i went over to barid to hang out with hanson after perkins. good times with the bro. ha. the days and nights of little sleep have definitely taken their toll on me by now! i hung out with the staff for a little while after hanson's and could not stay awake. bah.
thursday was a good relaxing time. we had move in for the people helping out with welcome week activities. i didn't have anything going on til lunch with staff and execs at noon. rhac had the first meeting in the afternoon. i am pumped to still be in the group and excited for the year ahead with all the execs and reps. i headed over to loft rental to hang out with some nrhh people for a while til i had to go work on fun RA stuff (bboards, publicity, room stuffings). at 3 natalie and i headed to festival foods to get food for our awesome dinner. i saw sarah mans and gary at the store. that was awesome. i hardly ever see them :\ back in the hall, natalie and i made pancakes (with ever imaginable topping!) and other such bfast foods for the staff and execs. we had loads of fun. we (hall people) decided to watch "family guy" and "lion king" in the basement while matt and i were on duty. i stopped by my room between rounds and could hear joe and brian coming up the stairs loudly on the other side of the hall to visit. they were hilarious. i <3 visitors. on matt and my last round at midnight, matt turned 21 (yay!) so the staff had a cake/ice cream/a gift of corn for him waiting in pam's apt. happy bday to matt! we were all so over tired. it was just a fit of giggles from all over. back in the room, kate came to visit! yay. bedtime was very late.
