im finally getting a credit card so i dont have to go to the bank every time i need to buy someting. this could be a bad thing seeing as i am a compulsive spender... but oh well. it will be good for me to learn to have some wont power. (lol yes, wont power... not will power... i have plenty of will when it comes to shopping)
i finally had time to sit down yesterday and finish everything i was in the middle of reading so i finally finished the keane autobiography (<3333 LOVED IT. ANYONE WHO EVEN KNOWS WHO HE IS GO AND GET THE BOOK AND READ IT RIGHT NOW) and i finally read my united magazine that came like 3 weeks ago.
ok i think i do feel like spazzing about football now.
eh, i kinda just copy and pasted the beginning of this... added some, deleted some
all this talking about signing new people to united had got me a little bit on edge. first of all, i dont see how anyone can suggest that we need something more/different upfront. weve got some of the world's best goalscorers SITTING ON OUR FUCKING BENCH. smith, when SAF lets him play, does an amazing job. saha scores for us, ole is comming back into first team training as of august, and there sure as hell is no need to defend his talent. rooney speaks for himself too... get him anywhere near the box and he'll score. and we have the scoring machine himself, v.nistelrooy... true, hes been a little off form after comming back from injury, but he still scores and its not like we dont have any other options... (see above) not to mention the midfielders we have who can score for us too... ronaldo, scholes and giggs. im not saying they shold move upfront. they belong in the midfield and work amazingly there, im just saying i still dont get how anyone can even THINK we might need more power upfront. i HATE that SAF never plays anyone other than ruud and rooney upfront. v.nistelrooy obviously wasnt back to his scoring self the end of last season, yet fergie started him every match. i mean i love the guy, but hes not the only option. smith and rooney or anyone for that matter can be just as deadly up front as the combination SAF always puts out there.
and on top of that... we have plenty of reserves team players that are fully capable of doing a decent job in the midfield... not sure about upfront but take a look at the others: miller and richardson to just name two. both of them have played first team matches and did perfectly well. and we're going to need someone to replace players like keano, giggs and scholes ina few years. but we dont need to spend money to do so. i just dont see why we cant delve into the talent already available to us if its needed.
[end rant]
now for something new... im still a little sketched out avout van der sar. im glad we got rid of carroll... i mean when your great saves are out numbered by your fuck ups, its time to say fuck off. i know you cant leave it down to the keeper in a match and expect them to stop every ball that comes flying at the net, but come on... carroll was just... spurs match. thats all i have to say. spurs match. BUT... with that in mind, (maybe its only me) but since i havent seen much of van der sar outside of euro2004, im looking to the statistics. between carroll and howard last season, we were second only to chelsea in clean sheets. howanr was extremely underrated last season im my opinion, and i think he did a decent job when he was called upon. but looking at the stats... van der sar was 5th from the top on most goals conceeded last season. again, i cant honestly doubt his tallent yet because i havent seen him play much and dont have anything to do on onther than those statistics.. just saying, im still a little sketched out.
so yea, thats my wicked long ass post for today. i will be extremely impressed if any of you actually read the whole damn thing, lol.
