Today I saw him again, sitting in my car the way he does. I had seen him earlier in the day, and acknowledged him with a smile. But, when I got home today, I was compelled to pick up a book called "The Complete Book of Practical Proverbs & Wacky Wit". So, I did, and was even more compelled to look in the "Friendship" section. As I read the quotes, one really struck me deep down in my heart and it says: "Real friends don't care if your socks don't match." This is mostly here for my own recollections, but is also here for those that understand why it strikes me so dearly. Such good times were spent with a boy whose socks didn't match...and neither did his shoes.
Somehow I can't stop thinking of him. Especially the way his voice would roll straight through me while he sang, even if the songs were more funny than anything else. But, I know everything is okay. I can feel it and I know it because he's still here. Even if he's not here physically, he's here.
