What I've been up to since the last time I posted? Later. Or maybe tomorrow. With photos. Meanwhile:
First off, I had to reply to the kind, huggable people who commented on my last entry and who sent me PM's (about deafness and about a homecoming).
No, no, actually, I checked on my bookmarked fan fics first. My case is terminal. Tsk, tsk.
And then I opened each of my filters in separate tabs so I can browse one while the other is loading and so on. I've caught up with you, dear f-list.
As usual, I was held up by the many, many lovely links from start_writing ... which reminded me of my other writing bookmarks, most of them online magazines and blogs with weekly or daily free books/fiction. Downloaded several web pages and PDF's. I will not stay offline for more than a day again. I will not stay offline for more than a day again. I will not stay offline for more than a day again.
If I can help it.
And then, finally, saw charlesatan 's post about The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror 2008 (Edited by Ellen Datlow, Kelly Link and Gavin J. Grant).
Wow, my story, Hamog is in the Honorable Mentions list. Oh my.
I'm so... relieved. Like this makes up for something. The something is my rather lousy submission to PSF IV. Hee.
Anyway... *happy sigh*
Even though Amazon won't let me see the page (apparently, the list is what they show when you click the Surprise Me! link) because I haven't bought anything from them yet. Hmpf.
Must acquire money for the book.
