bad memories
I was a weird kid.
When New Kids on the Block were really popular, I didn't like them because their "music" was crappy. I was in the 4th grade.
I also didn't like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the following reasons:
• They lived in New York City and yet had California surfer accents. What the fuck was that all about? I mean seriously. Have you ever seen a surfer in NYC? Much less one who sounded like he was from Orange County? And why would turtles need to surf anyway ...turtles can fucking swim!
• They had the names of famous Italian Renaissance artists and they were ninjas? First of all, Italians aren't stealthy. We as a people are too in your face to be ninjas. We might be hide illegal activity (i.e the Mafia) but we can't disappear into thin air like ninjas can. And most of you know me ... you know I am anything but quiet. And I am only half Italian :)
All of this came about because I just saw the preview for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie ... and it's bringing back all those pissed off memories from when I was kid. Stupid new movie ...
