Late to the Party

... as usual.

Apart from sports I don't usually watch tv these days. But a couple of days ago, while my dear husband was doing his usual nightly zapping-through-netflix-to-check-if-there-really-is-nothing-watchworthy-there routine Bea and I discovered Broadchurch.

OMG!!!!!

We binged on season one, totally hooked. Until our favourite character turned out to be the culprit. Eeek!
Last night we started on season two which seems to turn into one drawn-out courtroom drama. I still like the pacing, the fact that they are taking the time to show all the side effects of a crime that get pushed aside in those series that tackle and solve any major crime in 45 minutes. But I feel a bit distanced due to having no thoroughly likeable character present. I do understand where a lot of the protagonists' behaviour and reactions stem from, but I feel rather detached.

That won't keep me from watching, though. And cheering for almost everything the reverend says - his lines are brilliant. (And I guess I just doomed his fate by stating this. We'll see.)
