It was Sunnydale High all over again as she felt a small hand tug on her own, she looked down at the nine year old who was dressed like Elizabeth Swan and smiled. “Sweetie, we can’t leave until the rest of the group gets here.” Giving her hand a squeeze Buffy glanced at the rest of her impatient group and promised never to let Principle Lotz sweet talk her into volunteering.
The classroom door opened and a little girl stumbled inside; from head to toe she was covered in blue fuzzy fur with large white eyes stuck on the top of her head. Scrunching her brows together Buffy tried to figure out the costume.
“C’mon Uncle Nick!” The little blue monster whined with slight lisp before pulling an attractive male into the room.
Holding a basket of cookies in his other hand Nick looked around the room sheepishly as his niece bounded over to her friend.
“Lacey! Look I’m a cookie monster!”
Spotting the attractive adult blonde that was perched on the teacher’s desk he walked over. “Sorry she’s late.” Holding out his hand, “Nick Stokes, fellow volunteer.”
Hesitantly she offered her own back with a small smile. “Buffy Summers.”
