The hallways are mostly vacant as Aspasia wanders on her self-proclaimed patrol. Given that Exodus has decided his evening is best spent in the woods with the Circle (not that she can blame him, the air is cool and the trees and outdoors by far more comfortable), Raven is being dragged from issue to issue. She at least will make a pretense of being visible wherever possible.
This leads to her encounter with Savage. He is with an intimate entourage, looking vaguely bored. The conversation is light hearted, though she refrains from asking why he is carrying about a shoe in one hand.
Then he sends one of his attendants off to get a package, making her wonder what it could be. They speak on about families and lines. The servant returns if a box.
Savage makes a presentation to her of his machete, with the family crest decorating it’s hilt.
It’s not the same.
Surprised and perplexed at the gift, Aspasia takes it in her possession. It serves no purpose to be impolite, not when the man before her is clearly making a gesture of respect, or acknowledgment.
She will have to find a suitable and public use for this gift in the future, so he sees it was appreciated and welcomed.
Savage strolls away, thwapping the heel of the shoe in the palm of one hand, looking for someone or thing in particular and Aspasia carries the box in her hands, headed in the other direction. She does not display the weapon. That would most certainly cause a few kindred to be ill-at-ease if she was publicly seen to be brandishing such a thing.
And after all, she is a guest in Tulsa. It would not do to bring shame on the host.
