Summary: The ultimate culmination of complaining that you're bored and there's nothing to do: A brand-new, hip, happening nightspot! Well, you know, hip and happening so long as people show up.

Derek will, of course, make his way to this new spot. He had spoke to Kay about being part of the entertainment at some point (although he was pretty sure he hadn't volunteered for opening night). Either way, he wanted to see what she'd done with the place.

So here he is, making his way into the night club, dressed nicely in a white jacket and pants. He notes the layout of the place and smiles a little. Not bad...

Derek's safe from an opening-night performance, though Kay's still definitely interested in the possibility of getting him up on stage someday. Whatever his kind of music sounds like, if it's got fans here, then he's got a place to perform. And from what he said, it sounds like it does.

She spots him from across the room and, after she's figured out who he is, goes over to say hello. "It's--ah, Derek, right? How've you been?"

At some point, it might be easy to convince him. Although Kay may regret it, even if some of her patrons don't.

He nods at the greeting, "Yeah. You must be Kay. Nice to meet you. And I've been all right. How's opening night going?"

Kay's starting to think that she'd be interested in giving the music of others' worlds a proper chance, provided it's not as terrible as her first experience with concerts in this place. (Spoiler alert: It probably will be. But she'll give it a try, at least.)

"That's right." She glances around them at the people beginning to filter in and make use of the space. "Seems like it's going all right so far--once things get started, it should be pretty great."

Derek will go slow at first with the music; he knows that to some people it probably sounds like dying animals. He just has to work them up to it.

"Well, definitely looks like a good place to be. We allowed to pick our own seats?"

Because he'd like to sit and sort of...get out of immediate view of most folks.
