#68: penguins, a month long stroll, and console leapfrogging

This picture initially looks innocuous -- except this is actually a TV at my hotel room after I tried to check out. Fail

Looksley's Line Up on DSiWare came out on Monday and it incorporates 3D camera motion into the hidden object genre. Moving your head in front of the DSi camera makes the viewpoint shift, and objects sometimes only "appear" when viewed at certain angles. It's an interesting idea but the head tracking requires decent lighting conditions to work. After finishing the intro level I was presented with this shot but couldn't choose "no" -- I have ............. nochoice

more like a month it won't forget, amirite? I kept Torterra on the same Pokewalker stroll for a month so I could guarantee I'd have access to Surfing Pikachus from Yellow Forest. Apparently he doesn't mind being a Pikachu finding slave walking and walking and walking

Metal Slug XX doesn't tell you to return to the Xbox 360's Dashboard: it's "the end"

This should make friends with Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie

The local mall is showcasing student art projects and this emperor penguin drawing was charming. But it felt a little strange seeing the 2010 date next to the kid's name -- she wouldn't know of any of the ridiculousness from the 90s. Experiencing generation shift

This book sells lies: cute baby emperor penguins are on the cover, yet the book is actually about king penguins and their uglier babies! This book betrays penguin fans everywhere.

Mega Man Zero Collection's timing still feels arbitrary as it's coming almost 3 years after Mega Man ZX Advent. But it sure makes Mega Man Zero 1-4 more accessible, and it's also apparently a convenient excuse to encourage more Mega Man Zero inspired material!

I re-bought Kirby Super Star on Virtual Console when it was released last Monday. While I'm relatively sure I did little more than pad Nintendo's wallets, I figured I could (try to) support Kirby while spitting in the face of the DS release that I'll never buy as long as I live. After 100%'ing the title in a three hour sitting I suppose I still know the game well after all these years. Kirby Super Star's diverse set of abilities and game parameters is still as entertaining as ever, even if it's quite a lobsided experience.

Richter has been cursed -- what happened to that score?!

Apparently I'm not the only one who put down Super Street Fighter IV and went back to BlazBlue. Dee Jay's Sobat Festival has found its way into the Wheel of Fate
