Heart --Traverse Town [COMPLETE]

Nov 12, 2005 20:54

It was with a heavy heart that K got up to follow Zell. He had finally admitted to what he had done, and he had seen the consequence. Watching Zell walk away, even if he turned back, made him feel as if a riven had opened up between him and everything he knew now. Maybe he had made a mistake telling the other man what had happened, but there was ( Read more... )

He paused, waiting for K to catch up. It was going to be hard on the man, he knew. He wondered what it had taken to admit to the truth. He couldn’t comprehend doing such a thing. But then, not everyone handled things the same. Some people were naturally more optimistic, some more pessimistic, some more idealistic, some more pragmatic. The ratio to each in any individual was anyone’s guess. And in the end, It looked like there was no proper blend. So what to do? The only way Zell really knew how to live was to follow his heart, to trust his dreams. And he didn’t want it any other way ( ... )

Claudia couldn't figure out her journal.

Since K had suggested they use them, she had been trying to "set hers up", for all intents and purposes. She could only assume it was magical in the first place because her previous entries, her previous life had been erased from it's pages.

Of course, Claudia never really got along with technology of any kind, and the journal was refusing to cooperate. She let out a sigh of frustration, wondering if she should just get another one for the express purpose of keeping in touch with others. Claudia couldn't bear to part with the one she had now; it was too personal, holding dear memories even though they were no longer recorded on it's pages.

Well, that was a waste of time...

Claudia let out an irritated huff, closing the journal and looking over to where Ed was. At least, she hoped he was still there.

"Have you heard anything from K yet?"

K watched as Zell wandered to the cafe. The other blonde was taking a big risk going in, especially since the owner had banned him from entering. It meant a lot to K that the other blonde was willing to stick by him despite it all. Maybe things wouldn't be so bad then. Maybe there was hope that Ed and Claudia wouldn't look down on him too badly after what he had done. But if he didn't face them, then he would never know ( ... )

Ed frowned at the unusually severe and worried expression on K's face as the older man approached. He waved them over to where he and Claudia were sitting, casting a curious glance at the man K was with with.

He opened his mouth to say hellow to them, but K began before he could speak.

Sold his body? Ed blinked in confusion. What was that supposed to mean? He hadn't noticed any sign of a militia or anything in Traverse Town.

"You joined the military?" Ed ventured.

When they entered the cafe, the owner shot Zell a dirty look that said, "You better make this quick" - or it least it would have if he had taken the time read that far into expressions. So, all that really registered with him was something like, "I'm a greasy old man who likes glowering."

Not that he was paying attention.

Normally, he might have taken a chair; over the years he had mellowed out enough that he could force himself to sit still (albeit barely). Right now, however, that was simply not going to happen, so he opted to stand instead, shifting from foot to foot.

K's comment seemed to fly in out of nowhere, and it caught him completely off guard. Perhaps a little sad, considering he knew what was going to happen, but he wasn't about to admit it. The next comment, though? He wasn't even remotely prepared for that.

He instantly froze in place, throwing his hands up and head back in astonishment.

"Uhh..." he provided articulately.

Hey, he wasn't going to be the one to say it.

Claudia's question was quickly answered as she heard K's voice quickly blurt out from behind her. Of course, that wasn't really the kind of response she wanted to hear.

He did what??

Although prostitutes weren't really common in Silent Hill, that did not exempt the town from having nightclubs and other ungodly places like that, and Claudia was pretty sure that she had heard K say that he, in fact, became a prostitute.

"You did what?" She gaped, but her horror was magnified when Ed blurted out something about... the military?!

"What?! What does the military have to do with this? I thought he became a prostitute!" Claudia exclaimed quite bluntly.
