In the back parts of the gardens that most did not tread, Kairi had designated this place as the area for her practice. With her concern for Sora and Belle's husband riding in the back of her mind, the mindless indulgence of magic was a nice distraction. Her shoulders had a faint ache that promised soreness tomorrow, her hands were uncomfortably dry from the heat, but she looked proudly at the charred wall. Most of her spells had hit the center of the wall like she had planned to.
Taking a break to catch her breath and rub her shoulders, she sat down against the trunk of a large tree, looking at the wall carefully, as if judging each scortch for some flaw.

He started in one direction, following his ears, and soon happened upon a young girl seated and staring at a very charred wall. He stared at the wall for a moment and Abu made a disapproving noise before he turned back to the girl.
"Did something happen?" he asked, sounding quite concerned.

"I did," she said softly. "I was practicing magic, I'm sorry if I disturbed you."

"No, it's fine. I actually came here, hoping someone would be around, 'cause I'm bored..." He looked a little sheepish and shot a grin at her. Without warning, he sat down next to her. Abu examined the girl and chirped approvingly. She seemed nice enough.
