After her interesting meeting with Greed, Alice had been quick to make her way to the café he'd spoken about for some food. She had no idea how long it had been since she'd eaten last, but she was well aware that she was positively starving. After her currency being denied, the girl had made another trek to the exchange counter to trade her money for a strange form of currency called munny, pronounced the same way but apparently spelled differently. Alice wasn't entirely certain why people would use jingling, round balls for money, but she would have to get used to it. She was a stranger in a new world and would abide by their rules.
The walk hadn't been long at all, but it seemed like ages since she'd last left the café, hungry as she was. It was a relief to walk in and be seat at a small table with the promise of food. The waitress was nice enough to recommend the soup of the day, a dish that she didn't recognize at all, and a half of a sandwich to go along with it. Apparently, the tea was supposed to be quite good as well. The entire meal wasn't terribly expensive, for which Alice was extremely grateful; she hadn't had much money on her to exchange and would clearly have to stretch it until she found a way to make more of it.
As the girl waited for her food to come, she scanned the café, looking for anyone who seemed approachable enough to ask about the whole "underscore" business she needed to resolve before she could contact Greed.
