All in a Golden Afternoon - Hollow Bastion - [Complete]
Alice languidly placed herself underneath a tree in one of the castle's gardens. She finally had a good amount of free time, since all of her staff was back to full health and were making up for lost time.
The gardens were one of her favorite places to be in Hollow Bastion. They reminded her of home, sitting in the tree by the bank near her house, with her sister reciting her lessons to her.
Those were the times when she daydreamed the most, sitting in that tree. Now she was a little too big to actually climb onto the branches, but she could still sit underneath. The leaves had created a very nice shady spot to sit in, and the grass was always very neat. The caretakers were very meticulous about the gardens here. It was always a nice environment to be in.
Plus, now that Dinah had scampered off with Mr. Rufus, Alice didn't have to look after her mischievous kitten. She could just sit here, clear her mind, and take in her surroundings. Maybe if some of the children around here showed up, she'd join them in a nice game, but it was simply lovely to be able to relax for once. She was just a kid, after all! She should be able to be free of worries at least once in a while!
