I really want to write a Facebook post about how celebrating St Paddy's Day with green beer, green rivers and bobbly glittering shamrock headbands isn't really that great a cultural export for a country so troubled and gorgeous - but I also feel I don't have the right to say this?

I've never been to Ireland except a pit stop in the Dublin airport.
