Apollo Justice Case 2

Mar 02, 2008 02:39

First, thank you yoshikochan for the card. I got it safely last week. I'm sorry for not speaking up about it earlier! *flails* Dairantou Smash Brothers X and Apollo Justice both sucked me right in. =X Thank you so much for the lovely drawing of Kurama (that cake he's holding looks yummy!). I hope you had a wonderful time on the 29th this leap year. ♥

Fufufu, I finally finished Case 2 of Apollo Justice and now I really adore Apollo. (Hahaha, everyone else seems to have finished the game already!? How are people so fast with this?!) I've been playing this game slowly just like all the previous games. I play a bit before bed, all huddled comfortably in my blankets. Sometimes I only get through a few lines before getting sleepy...I love it that I can save anywhere.

On the case

The case was brilliantly funny. I love how it came together. Phoenix gets hit by a car (ouch!) and is in the hospital most of the time (Dr. Hickfield returns once again! Still as disturbing as always!). Apollo's out of a job, gets called by Phoenix, and ends up going on trivial cases for Phoenix. He's sent to find out who hit Phoenix, who stole Mr. Eldoon's noodle stand, and who stole Trucy's magic panties. Bizarre cases, really, but all connected.

After discovering that Pal Meraktis (who was the guy who hit Phoenix with his car) was found dead...pulling Eldoon's noodle stand in the middle of the park, Alita shows up to ask Apollo to defend her fiancee, Wocky. Apollo hasn't even met Wocky when he agrees. I wonder if this will ever get him into trouble. This is something else that sets Apollo apart from Phoenix though...he doesn't take cases based on who his client is. Or is he just that desperate to have a case...?

The first witness Klavier calls, Wesley Stickler, turns out to be the panty-snatcher. Other than that, his testimony was all accurate. He proved that the victim turned to the right (away from the clinic) when he called out, and so to get shot in the right temple, the victim had to have been shot from the direction of the noodle stand.

Ema's gotten really advanced with her scientific analysis, with footprint analysis and all that. The slipper footprint off the side of the noodle stand turned out to be the relevant evidence and what pointed to Alita's presence on the noodle stand. To think, the victim was pulling his murderer on the noodle stand! What a bizarre thought! But it turned out that they fought in the victim's office over Wocky's medical report which would have put Alita in a bad position if the Kitaki family ever found out that she knew about Wocky's critical position. The victim thought he had killed Alita and was pulling her along in Eldoon's noodle stand so he could dispose of her "corpse." Oh, what irony.

This case amused me greatly with how the victim was found pulling a noodle stand and how something as silly as panty-snatching made it to court. What a case.

On the characters

Okay, Apollo? I'm liking him more and more. His expressions are very amusing (still loving how he sticks a finger on his forehead and purses his lips when he's thinking hard.) He really seems to be defending because that's what he wants to do, unlike Phoenix where he had...other motives. Haha, his chords of steel makes me think of him as a guy with a really, really loud voice.

I still think his power to perceive is weird. XD I got to use it more in this case. All the times I had to use it were pretty easy...Alita was turning her ring in one and scratching her neck in another. I do wonder if there's an explanation for why Apollo can do this...just what is that bracelet of his and where did he get it?! Hm, another mystery...

Trucy, unlike my first impression of her, is indeed a pretty cheerful girl. She's definitely way too old to be Phoenix's biological daughter...so here's waiting for the story behind that! She's very eccentric. Only 15...haha, I do love it when Apollo feels old in comparison to Trucy. Her Mr. Hat act to get Apollo extra time in the trial is just...wow. To go to those extremes! She's quite daring. I wonder if her magic skills are self study. But huh, it's her skill to see people's habits (and not Phoenix's) that helped Phoenix in his card games?! I like how she looks without her hat.

Phoenix...is now a really mysterious guy. Yeah. Very perceptive to boot. And my gosh, he's lucky that he's not hurt from getting hit by that car and flying into a pole and all.

Ema makes her first appearance in front of People's Park, and my goodness, her munching is annoying. I liked Ema in Case 5 of the first game...but having to go through her munching was not fun. She seems a lot moodier than before, which she attributes to not getting the position she wanted. She's a detective of all things! (I wonder if Gumshoe's still around...) She doesn't know what happened to Phoenix...yeah. Darn. Wish she could shed some light.

Klavier Gavin also makes his first appearance. XD (First time I saw him was in this video where he's singing to the opening to Busou Renkin. Hee.) I'm liking his character so far. He seems dedicated to the truth more than getting a guilty verdict out of the defendant. (He called Alita as the witness and sort of hinted at Apollo that he had all the clues.) Haha, as for his character design...very charismatic. Almost the same hairstyle as his brother (I wonder how he feels about his brother being convicted 0___0; ). The way he puts his hands on his hips and leans down with a smile makes me think of...Arnaud from Wild Arms 4. Like the teasing, somewhat mischievous big brother type. He pounds the wall behind him when he's trying to get his point across and just looks cool in general. His air guitar is quite amusing. The way he talks is pretty amusing too. I wonder how he has time to prosecute and lead a band at the same time. 0__0;

The defendant, Wocky Kitani looks and acts just like the typical gangster. He looks like a trickster fox. XD; But! He wears a Blue Badger shirt! How badass can he be?? Anyway, he acts really tough but he's quite a softie. His serious expression at the end almost looked like he was about to cry. *pats Wocky*

The witness, Wesley Stickler. *snorts* Is that what the image of a typical college student is like? I have no idea why he's wearing a graduation gown. Do people go around wearing black gowns all the time? 0__0; But uh, he's a stickler for details. Yeah. And he's curious. Very curious. Hence why he snatched Trucy's magic panties to study them. XD

Mr. Eldoon who got his noodle stand stolen. Well, the fact that he was a doctor before was unexpected. He looks like an entirely different person without his noodle bowl over his head! I wonder what his Japanese name is and what's written on his noodle cart.

The true killer, Alita Tiala. Hahahaha, I love her animation with the flapping wings on her dress. So impossible. She doesn't come across as all that bad...not like Dhalia. She didn't set out to kill Pal Meraktis and she's really just looking after her own hide. Too bad Wocky's still enamored of her. Hah, I went "ouch" for Apollo when she told him that she went to Apollo for Wocky's defense because she was sure Apollo would be able to get Wocky a guilty sentence.

Winfred Kitaki and Plum Kitaki, Wocky's parents. Winfred...my gosh, when he showed his puppy dog eyes at the end, I couldn't help but laugh. His shirt with that cute fox should have given me a clue. Plum seems a lot more menacing than him with how she threatens people with her broom that was a hidden blade. They're really quite loving parents though, trying to get clean money for Wocky's operation. That touched me. <3

The victim, Pal Meraktis. I don't hold much symphony for him. Just went ?! when he was found dead pulling a noodle cart. That was just bizarre.

Now onto case three. Even though I have tons of stuff due next week. ad;lfjk;
