Video game live @ SF!

Video Game Live was pretty cool. :D The music and the video footage really went well together, so well that I found that I paid a lot more attention to the video and the music than the orchestra. I didn't watch the band play as much as I did at Play! Symphony. .___. I loved the beginning part with all the music from the super old NES games.

I wish I knew about the cosplay contest before the concert. I'd have...dressed up. Probably. There weren't many cosplayers there, which was surprising since Wondercon is happening at the same time and a lot of people seem to be attendees of that too.

My seat was actually on ground level this time. XD Seeing it at eye level is so much nicer! There was lots of audience participation involved too...they picked people out of the audience to play games to win prizes. First was Space Invader and then came Frogger. I'd imagine it must be a lot of pressure to be playing...Frogger on such a big screen in front of SO many people. The prize for beating the first level of Space Invader is so cool...an actual arcade system! It has a lot of games loaded in it. Too bad the guy didn't finish the level.

My favorite part was Martin Leung's piano pieces. I was amazed. Seems like he got famous because of this Youtube video where he played a Mario medley blindfolded, and near the end, he plays crazily fast. I also liked songs where the chorus came in. Like the song for Civilization. ♥

It was awesome seeing the progression from the old games to the newer ones. Like for Sonic, Metroid, Zelda...

Also...One Winged Angel is way too overplayed. I think...the previous symphony played that during the encore too! Or at least, sometime during the thing. But it was played. >_> The host of the symphony's really cool though.

Overall, I loved it. ♥ Definitely going to it again whenever it's held close to where I live.
