new manga

I'm looking to buy some new manga. I basically ask my visiting relatives from Taiwan to buy a bunch of manga for me when they're visiting. Which is next week. And the last visit was last month, so I've already bought the continuations of series I've been following. So now...new series! Any suggestions? I went to some stingy Chinese bookstore over

Haha, I know that One Piece is already really, really long. I'm too scared of buying super long series now. I started buying Conan when there was only one volume out...and diligently, I bought each volume when it came out. And look where it's gotten me now. 51 volumes! I bought Shaman King when it was already pretty long...and suddenly, I had to dedicate one entire row of my shelf to it. D=

I suppose that's one of the reasons why I never considered buying Bleach or Naruto. Or Whistle!, even though I was tempted a lot of times.

I like shounen manga quite a lot too. One shelf in my room is dedicated to it, while I stuffed half of it in my brother's room since it wouldn't fit in mine. But shounen series are usually super long, much longer than shoujo series, and that scares me in terms of both money and space. Mm, Monster. I have most of the anime but I haven't watched it. It seems quite dark to me, and I usually don't like series like that. But kudos for it being completed. I'll take a look at the first volume of the manga.

Ooo, another recommendation for Nodame Cantabile. Parfait Tic? If only I knew the Chinese names for those two series!!
