new manga

I'm looking to buy some new manga. I basically ask my visiting relatives from Taiwan to buy a bunch of manga for me when they're visiting. Which is next week. And the last visit was last month, so I've already bought the continuations of series I've been following. So now...new series! Any suggestions? I went to some stingy Chinese bookstore over ( Read more... )

O___o There's STACKS of manga over at our local library. I would've checked them all out, but I've already either seen the anime or read the scans. XDD;;

I think you should totally give D.Gray-man a try. The storyline is really nice and the characters kills me. (even though the interesting characters won't come in until the end of the 1st volume, and Rabi won't come in until chapter 26 Dx)

Gintama is seriously one of the funniest mangas I've ever read. I'm not a fan of the artwork style, but the story is so funny it doesn't really matter anymore XD

I don't really like the manga verison of Honey & Clover either. The anime is just so addicting and pretty compared to the manga. The only reason I want to read the manga is to see if/how it ends differently from the anime.

It's sad how I've been watching Conana for eight years now DX

There were two short waist-high shelves dedicated to manga at this library in the next town down from my university. I went there to check out Dear Boys...and that was it. It was hard checking out manga from there...because they only let us check out 2 at a time.

I used to check out manga from a manga store in a Chinese plaza, but I stopped since it was expensive. 60 cents each!

Somehow, the first chapter of D.Gray-man didn't interest me much. Do you know of scanlations or raws for the rest of the 1st volume?

I'm currently reading scans for the 1st volume of Gintama. It really is a funny manga, but it wouldn't be quite as funny in Chinese. Haha, the artwork is unique. =P

True. the H&C anime was much prettier. Especially the colors. And the music was very nice. Reading the manga just makes me miss the anime more. But like you, I want to what happens later on.

It's sad that I've been following Conan since elementary school and now I'm in universtiy

The public librarys here are pretty lenient. O.o we can check ou 50 books per card at one time.

60cents? O___o There was this anime plaza when I last went to china that rented our anime DVDs. Each DVD disk of a certain anime (which only had 2-3 episodes) were 50cents each.

Gintama is funnier in English than Chinese, I'd think. Honey & Clover is so much love. But the anime didn't really end. It was sort of just one of those "slice of life" things. <3

In 20 years, I'll be sitting here pondering about the two mysteries of life: why I'm still single and WHY hasn't Conan ended yet.

It was an asian branch. The limit for regular books is 10, but for manga, they only let us check out 2. -_-;; I went back a lot to finish reading Dear Boys, and after that, I gave up. Too much work getting there.

Even though it's just showing us a bit of their lives, I still want to find out more about what happens with Nomiya and Yamada!

Ah, I remember those days when I had to search high and low to check out expensive anime. And guess what I was renting? Dragonball Z in Mandarin

*shudders* You do not want to hear Vegeta's voice in Mandarin. I usually hate English dubs, but that Chinese dub makes me appreciate the English one a lot.

I was rewatching the 2nd Conan movie today...and that's from 8 years ago! 0_0 The art style really shows its age!

*blinks* How goes studying?

Too lazy to strike it out. I've lost the interest in watching Conan solve murder cases. Some times during my 6th year watching it, I realized that I officially knew of 59 different ways to kill someone. It's a rewarding feeling.

Not much studying for me. I try to retain the material I've learned. Cramming never works for me anywa. Dx
