new manga

I'm looking to buy some new manga. I basically ask my visiting relatives from Taiwan to buy a bunch of manga for me when they're visiting. Which is next week. And the last visit was last month, so I've already bought the continuations of series I've been following. So now...new series! Any suggestions? I went to some stingy Chinese bookstore over ( Read more... )

Mmm yeah, I think it'll be more funny if you read Gintama in Japanese... lots of slang too. Gintama is one manga I can't read in the train, I can't help grinning while reading some of it. o_O There are 10 volumes out, and there are scanlations. Since yanime stopped doing it, someone uploaded everything on a gmail account and left us the password and username at the Gintama Community. I'll give you the pass, if you're interested. xxxHolic is interesting. You get to know a lot of the old Japanese sayings or proverbs, and since Tsubasa and xxxHolic are genuinely cross-overed, you'll see little connections to Tsubasa with it.

I thought bleachportal had direct download raws. I dunno bout the earlier chapters, but they have the recent ones.

The author for Nodame is Ninomiya Tomoko. My layout is the backcover of Volume 10. It's also already licensed in America, I think they've released quite a few volumes... I found a really really indepth summary of Volume 1, if you're interested. http://www.callenreese.com/nodame1.html

I sold my manga to my friends. XD You should lend manga to friends, get them hooked, and tell them you'd sell yours for cheap. I did that to a friend with Bleach. XD I'm evil, lol.

Are the scanlations or the raws uploaded to the gmail account? Doesn't matter whichever it is...I'd like to take a look. :3

I'll take a look at bleachportal too. I don't go looking for bleach stuff very often. Hopefully they have chapters starting around volume 19 or so...that's what I have up to, even though I haven't read it yet.

Your layout is very cute. I'm browsing through a site that sells Chinese translated manga right now. Maybe I'll come across that series.

Selling manga to friends would be a good solution...problem is, none of my friends are good at reading Chinese. D= One's currently learning so that she can raid my manga collection...later.

Haha, you sold your Bleach collection? You don't keep a lot of your manga, do you?

Scanlations. They've got a couple of raws, too, of more later chapters. You can understand the latest chapters perfectly, though, without the earlier ones because Gintama is like Ranma and just has a lot of little stories. Just go to gmail.com, the username is 'tennenpaama' pass 'ginishluv'.

Bleachportal has the latest chapters. And if you join the community soul_society, every week someone uploads the latest raw and a scanlation comes out within the week.

I do keep some of it... My mom is always bugging me to sell my manga, and there are times when my wallet is empty from getting into a new series. I'm satisified as long as I get new series or new volumes. And I get tired of some manga (like Ranma), and what's the use if they're just sitting there unread? Hikago and Conan have managed to stay for a long time though. :3

Some manga I've reread over and over again. And others...I just want to forget that I've bought them. T_T Conan is certainly one of those series that I've reread a lot. At least I've reread all the volumes before volume 20 or so, since at that time, I only had Ranma, Conan, and Yu Yu Hakusho to read. It's slightly hard to believe just how much my manga collection has expanded since then. Too bad my shelves' are filled with quite a lot of older manga.

New stuff would certainly be nice. :3

Thanks for the login info. I'll go check Gintama out a bit. :)
