Oooo it's all changed
God yesterday was a nightmare. I went and started the day well. At work I actually was going well, and achieving quite a lot of stuff for once. That doesn't happen very often, and so I was feeling quite motivated, which happens even less often. So in the late morning, I texted my dad to say happy birthday, which I wanted to do because I hadn't sent a card, and becuase I didn't know when would be appropriate to call him, because he spends all of his time with her in the evening with the phone switched off, and in the day, he is at work, so I don't know if he can take calls. Anyway, i sent the message, went and had lunch, and read some more of the Da Vinci Code... book two I am reading of Dan Brown.. recommended to anyone.. esp. Angels and Demons which I just finished and didn't see the ending coming. Anyway, then he phones me up, about 2.30pm. I am on the phone to him for an hour, in which he basically tells me that if I won't meet her, then he won't see me, and that he won't come to the wedding if her name isn't on the wedding invitation. I try explaining that I don't really want the woman that my dad had an affair with at the wedding that my mother is going to be at, but he is adamant. Then he explains that if I don't see him, it won't really matter, because i haven't made any effort to see him in the last 18 months. I told him I had called him a couple of weeks ago with a view to changing that, because I wanted things to be different, it just all went down hill from there. I don't understand why he is being so obstructive, when there is a clear third option open to him which satisfys everyone. He could see me by himself, but he has said he sees her seven days a week, and isn't prepared for that to change, and so he won't not see her on one occasion to see me. Tough luck basically. I so knew this was coming. Guess I will have to get someone else to give me away. Kevin was a star, as was my sister and my mum. They came round last night, before I ran Deadlands, and cheered me up. Kev bought me flowers. He has a half day today, so he will be home come the afternoon. Which will be good.
On the up side. Game went well I thought, better than last weeks session, although it's only the 2nd session. I thought it would be. The first fight should happen next week, althought they will split to travel, so I will have to design something for M and P's chars. As they will be hoofing it, and the others will be training it to Sacremento. So the others will be able to get the plot more going. I need to run in some sub plot, as they will be consistently behind.... sodding old ways vow, not taking the sodding train. I am buying a new game, called the Xro Dinn Chronicles, it's hard sci-fi and looks excellent. I can't wait to run it. I can't remember if I mentioned that in my last post or not, but hey.
Looking forward to going ot see Raiders of the Lost Ark tomorrow, and then qualifying for the Chinese Grand Prix.. excellent... should be a good weekend.. Still there is one days's work left first, and I am waiting for Amazon to deliver Pat's b'day present, and ST:TOS Series 1 on dvd, and Midnight Falcon by David Gemmell the next in the Rigante Series another of my recommended authors.
