This is for the People of the Sun ...
This is for the guys who make minimum wage, and still pay their bills. It's for the poor bastards working on the side of the road picking up trash who AREN'T on work-release. It's for people who drive slow, and don't give a fuck about the speed limit or the people behind them. The ones who slow down long before they turn, and always use their blinkers.
This is for the people who believe in the American Dream, and think they can make it big if they just work hard enough. And it's also for the ones who know they have no chance at the good life, but work that hard anyway, so their kids will have that shot.
It's for the couples who stay married despite all the shit going on in their lives, and the people who work it out even though they can't legally marry, and don't get benefits, and get shit on by people who think they have the right to be assholes.
This is for the kids who grow up with nothing, and make something out of themselves. And it's for the kids who grow up with everything, and STILL make something out of themselves.
It's for the good winners, and the good losers, and the ones who didn't play, out of respect for the game. It's for the guys who keep fighting a losing battle, and for the guys who know when to end it, and most of all, for the guys who stop it all before it begins.
This is for the shy people that stand up for their friends. This is for the quiet people who shout down injustice. This is for the guys who DO THE RIGHT THING, no matter what the cost.
As they read, they begin to recognize themselves ... You know who you are: You get overlooked a lot. You get cut in lines, and cut off on the road. People cheat you because they can, sometimes, and if it's just you that gets hurt, well, you can take it, right?
Well, it ain't right that it happens ... but Yeah, you can take it.
You're the strongest goddamn people in the world.
You people are my fucking HEROES. I wish I could be half that tolerant, half that strong, half that tough.
And you'll say ... "Oh, c'mon, it's not that big a deal."
Yeah, that's why there's so many assholes, right?
