Been a while since my last post! Let's speed it up a bit.
9月30日 - Had a cooking day with V-ACT! The Japanese members made Oyakodon, a chicken+egg+rice dish whose name means "mother and child"-don, and then dango. I, on the other hand, tried to make banana cue, a deep-fried, sugar-coated banana. I read the recipe for 20 seconds and tried my best. 〈(゜。゜) Thankfully it ended up yummy. Or was it just because of the banana?
Bored and still with some oil left from the banana cue, a few attempted to deep-fry their dango. It was... partially well received. ( ̄ω ̄;)
10月5日 - The Filipinos decided to go to Seitai Hoshikai (聖体奉仕会, "The Handmaids of the Holy Eucharist"), and visit the Our Lady of Akita statue. There was the whole Marian apparition thing complete with crying statue. We didn't see it cry though. (^^ ;) After some minutes of praying, we went walking around the surrounding gardens. Taking pictures in the church wasn't allowed, so all my pictures are of gardens/the outside.
It was a bit of a trip (about an hour and 1480円 total, from AIU) but the place was very beautiful. Got a small souvenir for family back home!
Before returning to AIU, we decided to take a later bus and just walk around while we were at the city. Went to a ramen shop and ordered a 680円 teishoku (set meal) of ramen, gyoza (mmmm a new favorite?), rice, and dessert. I would eat there again~ After that we went to Animate. Errrrp, self-control was still there, but I screeched when I saw the art materials corner. But in the end I just bought two pens and a magazine.. ;w;
10月6日 - Today I went to Manga Souko, the coveted, most-talked about behemoth of an anime store (or an everything-store) that I've been hearing from people. Personally, though MS is more complete, I liked Animate better simply because I could navigate it. And the walk to MS was a bit of a bother. In MS, there was just so much stuff that I couldn't find anything I wanted, if there was anything at all. I instead got to play a few minutes of P4U. Huhuhu I want a PS3 here.
Strange finds: a John Cena WWE belt. Fake? Used? I don't even know. But I did find a pair of rollerblades for about 4800円. It would've been nice, but I can't rollerblade on these roads. 笑
I went back a little early to catch some work at the AIU Satellite Center. It was a lot like RareJob, only now I'm talking to them face-to-face! I had two groups of about six to eight, no one younger than 40. But they were immaculately nice. The eldest lady in the room was the first to talk to me. She's originally from Osaka and looked about... at least 85? At the end of our conversation she was all, "are you coming back next week? I really really want to meet with you again! Such an intelligent girl, can't you come again?" So nice. :< But I only had one day at the center. Maybe next month, I'll sign up for it again!
Anyway, tomorrow's the start of the AIU Festival. Everyone's been working really hard for it so it's kind of exciting to see. Hope it'll turn out well! I'm getting free nabe tomorrow for lunch! Woohoo.
