ホストファミリー!!

I think I've been sleeping pretty late for the past few days! Ever since we've started sharing/buying ingredients and cooking for ourselves, we've usually been hanging out at Chris' dorm in Global Village with Ebib and whoever else happens to want to come along. Cooking leads to talking leads to movies leads to late nights but good times. We watched Praybeyt Benjamin last night until about 3AM, but since Chris gave me a copy of the first two seasons of Suits, I watched the first episode and ended up sleeping at 6.

When I woke up today, I saw that I received a message from my host mother! There was apparently going to be a dog run near AEON and she'll be bringing the kids, so figured to invite me as well. Though it was sudden, of course I wanted to go so I could finally meet them!

So we met up, and she drove us to the park(?)... or wanted to, if it weren't so traffic. There was a festival by some TV company happening near by so, worrying we might not be able to find parking and choosing not to walk far with a dog, an infant, and a toddler, we just waited at their house. Which was very cute! Compared to the host family I stayed with in Nara, the house was more modern in look, but still with that Japanese-y feel.

The children, Hiyu (2), and Rian (0.5), are kinda too young to talk to me straight or really be friends with me, but I found myself content just gushing over them quietly. They're really too cute! Even if Rian was crying 80% of the time we were in the car, she's still adorable. Hiyu, on the other hand, cried a bit, but always wants to hold his mother's hand before even attempting to fall asleep. Cuuuute (;A; ) Anyway, I hope we can play a lot.

Host mom was also very young and really pleasant to talk to even if she can't speak straight English (a test for me!). When she found out that I liked yakiniku, she asked me to try some smoked cow tongue. It didn't look too bad, so I did, and it was alright, I suppose! Like ham, only with a different texture. Also tried wasabi chips that were... lmao. Probably too spicy for me to keep eating, but yeah, interestng. xD Besides that, coffee, ice cream, and tea, she also gave me a cheesecake with raspberries and almonds as omiyage before driving me back to school. Really too kind...!

I look forward to meeting them again! The dad wants to meet me, too, except his only free time is on Sundays, and of course I'd feel a bit bad to be there on their family day. We'll see how it goes!

Meanwhile, I'm back at AIU, ate Ebib's Chicken a la King and shared with them + Jennifer the cheesecake before watching another movie and going back to the dorm. Might watch episode 2 of Suits (it's good!) before bed, because tomorrow, I'm going to the beach!! ^^/ I volunteered for a clean-up thing. :)
