Alright; so I tried to go the hard way.
I do believe it's in Liber E; the student is supposed to take a well-used tarot deck (check!) and pull a card at a time, trying to stretch their clairvoyance muscles.
I pulled card after card, so frustrated I could scream. In seventy eight tries; I guessed the correct suit 20 times and guessed incorrectly 58 times.
If I'd sat in smug self-confidence and said the words "Minor Arcana" over and over again, I would've well exceeded my twenty correct guesses.
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.
I've been thinking, though, that perhaps the next time I do it I will instead do a reading and plot it out before I lay the cards down.
Knowing me, that seems like it might be more successful. And interesting.
