Standing in front of the full-length mirror, Face was admiring his profile and smiling a little. He did have to hand it to himself; he was certainly a handsome man.

“Hey Faceman!”

The door suddenly thrust open as someone jaunted through, shattering the moment.

Hastily wrapping the red satin robe about himself, Face glared at the intruder. “Murdock. Don’t you ever knock?”

“Oh,” a sheepish smile, “Sorry.” He ducked back out of the room, closing the door behind him. And then knocked.

“Murdock,” Face rolled his eyes and groaned, “why knock now? You already barged in.”

“But you told me I should I knock,” Murdock’s muffled voice came through the door. “So I’m knockin’.” Another series of taps sounded against the wood.

Striding over to the door, Face yanked it open. “What do you want?” he asked impatiently.

“You know,” Murdock stepped in and frowned. “I don’t remember now.”

“Well, why don’t you come back when you remember and tell me then, huh?”

“No wait! I got it!” He stuffed his hands in his pockets and gave a lopsided grin. “What you up to?”

“You came barging into my room just to ask me that? Why do I put up with you?”

“‘Cos you like me.” More grinning followed.

Face had to admit that he did have a point there. He did like him. Didn’t stop him from being annoyed with him, however.

“Fine, fine. I’m not doing anything. I was getting ready to take a shower.”

“Didn’t you already take one? I could’ve sworn I heard water running earlier.”

Face cringed slightly; he had forgotten that Murdock had the room next to his. It wasn’t often that Hannibal sprung for rooms for each of them, but it did happen on occasion. Probably as a means to preserve the sanity of his men. Sharing quarters constantly began to wear on everyone’s nerves after a while.

“Well,” Face struggled to cover his slip, “I was...going to take another. They have very nice showers here.”

“Really?” Murdock’s face scrunched up in thought. “Didn’t seem all that much different to me.”

“Murdock, will you just get? I’ve got other...things to do.”

“Showering ‘til you turn into a raisin? You gotta get yourself a better hobby than that, Faceman.”

“Murdock! Come on, Hannibal got us these rooms so we could get a bit of privacy. I’d like to take full advantage of that, if you don’t mind.”

“Sure, sure. But uh...” Face braced himself for the inevitable. “What are you doing after that?”

“Nothing! I’m doing nothing now and I’ll still be doing nothing then! Now scoot!” Face began to shove Murdock towards the open door. The robe slipped open a bit as Face pushed him back.

“Uh, Face? Why are you wearing...” his eyes went wide, “Lady’s underthings?”

Face quickly shoved the door closed. “Shh! Keep your voice down. And it’s...”

“Nothing.” Murdock nodded and grinned. “I get it now. It’s absolutely nothing. I do it myself sometimes, you know. Nothing that is.”

Mouth hanging slightly open, Face stared at him. “You what? You don’t mean...”

“Yah I do. Sometimes,” he shrugged slightly. “But I’m crazy. What’s your excuse?”

“Look, can we not talk about this? This isn’t really a good time.”

“Can you think of a better time to discuss wearing ladies’ stuff other than a time when you’re wearing ladies’ stuff?”

There was a certain logic to that. He sighed. “Ok, fine. But,” he waggled a finger under Murdock’s nose, “You have to promise not to mention this to Hannibal or BA. I don’t think they’ll understand.” He straightened himself up and re-adjusted the robe. “Probably think I’m crazy as you are,” he muttered under his breath.

“Absolutely no problemo, muchacho,” he smirked. “Cross my heart and hope to die. Words shall not pass these lips. I swear upon...”

“Murdock!” Face waved a hand at him. “That’s...more than enough. I trust you.”

“So...” Murdock eased around Face and plopped down on the bed. “What was it that appealed to you to wear sexy lingerie?”

“I don’t know. Let’s just say that I like to feel...sexy. They don’t make enough fine quality men’s under garments if you ask me.” Face began to absently pace around the room as he poured out his reasons. “Sure, silk boxers are a good start, but we need more than that. Women...” he paused and jabbed a finger in the air, “they have got it good. With all those silk, satin and lacy things. Well, not so much for the lace for us guys. That would be a bit too much, I think.”

“But I like lace.”

Pausing, Face glanced to where Murdock sat on the bed. He was a sucker for the pouty lip. “Oh alright,” he gave in, “lace is sexy too.”

“Thanks, Face,” Murdock grinned back.

“No problem,” he replied absently and then resumed his pacing. “What’s so wrong with a guy wanting to feel good about himself? I’m good looking, right?” Face didn’t notice Murdock’s assenting nod. “I have clothes that are just as good looking. Why can’t I have good under clothes too?” He stopped suddenly and spun on a heel, looking down at Murdock. “I’ve been thinking,” he crossed the room in a few swift strides and took a seat next to Murdock on the bed, “Silk tee shirts. The perfect answer for the discerning man. We need more than just a pair of silk shorts. What good are they if you have to wear some scratchy cotton tee with them? Totally ruins the effect of a good silk shirt, if you ask me.”

“I think that’s a great idea!” Murdock’s entire face lit up in a huge smile. “When you open your fashion designing business, can I have one?”

“Fashion designing?” Face considered this. “Well, I suppose I could, but...I don’t know, Murdock. I’m not sure if it’s really the right kind of business for me.”

“Are you kidding?” Murdock’s jaw dropped slightly. “Face, you are the most well-dressed guy I know. I mean just look at you.” He stood up and waved a hand at him. “Even your robe has style. You could rule the fashion world.”

“Really?” Face unconsciously ran a hand down the front of his robe. “You think so?”

“I know so. I can see it now,” Murdock took a few steps back, waving a hand through the air in grandeur, “Faceman Industries, where every man has a right to look fabulous. You’d be crazy not to.”

Face cocked an eyebrow at his friend. “Uh, Murdock, I don’t think that would work very well as a slogan. And it wouldn’t be ‘Faceman’ anything. It’d probably be something more along the lines of Peck Fashions. Or Templeton’s Designs. Well...maybe not that last, but we have time to work on names.”

“We?”

“Sure. Why not. I’ll need someone to help with the business. I’ll cover the books and the corporate arrangements of course and you can...uh...”

“Can I be a model?” Murdock spoke in a rush, awe dripping from his voice. “Please? Oh, please!”

“Uh, I suppose...”

“Thanks Faceman!” Grinning hugely, Murdock suddenly lunged forward, grabbing Face by the shoulders and leaning down, gave him a swift peck on the cheek. Bouncing back up, he bounded for the door, yanking it open. “Hey ya guys!” he hollered down the corridor as soon as it was open, “Face and I are gonna start a business! And it’s...”

Face hurriedly scrambled off the bed after him.
