Date: 11 May 2003
Place: Lobby
Status: Public
Summary: Another new arrival.

"Thank you," he told the cab driver as he got out of the car and handed him a nice tip.

He got out, shouldered his bag and looked around. He had grown up not too far from this area, though far enough that he didn't really run a risk of meetingy anyone who'd known his family back then. Everyone had long left anyway. Dead. Moved elsewhere (and dead, too, now). It seemed a nice enough place to start his retirement. He'd see where life took him from here. He didn't need to touch the gun he carried, or any of the assortment of knives - he knew they were there.

The hotel itself looked large enough to not be the kind of place where everyone asked for the story of your life the moment you showed your face. That was well enough with him. He didn't really need people asking about things it was better not to answer.

Firmly planting a smile on his lips, as if he had not a care in the world, he walked through the gate, up the steps and into the building.
