...to make a post about New Years Eve.
In short, it was brilliant. Really brilliant, and I'm so glad that I was there, with the people that I was with. I will take memories of the night with me to my grave, and I'm truly honored to have been there when
averylaterabbit asked
pax_draconis for his hand in marriage.
From an entirely me, me, me point of view, it felt wonderful to have people I've known for up to ten years not recognise me at first. It's a testament to how much I've changed over the past year, and in the past three months in particular. To have one of the partygoers describe me as "some hot girl I assumed was a friend of Tony's" was really cool. :D Also,
november_girl's assertation that my voice wasn't awful, just a bit sultry, like I should be working on a naughty chat line was confirmed by a caller today at work.
It's reminded me that I don't see people often enough. However, that's going to change - Birmingham is less than two hours away, even for me on public transport, and I'm already making plans with people to get out more.
Moo baa, moo baa, double quack, double quack. Read it like a phone number. I'd forgotten how much I miss
mr_h_r_hughes. With the "animal hotline" and David Bowie's homosexual exploits with the stars of yesteryear, Jamie very nearly broke me. I confess that I was, in part, responsible for
agentinfinity's lesbian (mis)adventures on the night - I was mostly sober at that point, and told her to 'go with what feels right', but the "whoops, I've fallen" routine wasn't classy! ;D
nattydreadi's attempt to play
pax_draconis buckaroo was fun, up until the point where Ian woke up, and Rich (like a little kid) blamed me, despite sitting at the other end of the room at the time. Silly git. :P
It's the first time I've been up to see the dawn at a party in a long time. I think maybe Liam's 2003 party was the last. Or was it 2004? It was the one where we were all dressed up as videogame characters anyway. Mind you, I only actually saw the dawn because I didn't bet on it being as cold as it was.
pax_draconis's arrival at 10am with a duvet allowed me to finally grab a couple of hours sleep on New Year's Day.
Quick mention - I really enjoyed the cafe crawl on Saurday too, so yay for making it happen
steve_c.
Of everything, though - drinks, laughs, double takes and all - I think I'll prize my conversations with
averylaterabbit the most. It's weird; out of everyone that I know, you seem to be the person who's most helping me to come to terms with myself and realise just what I might become, Tony.
So, thank you.
Happy new year!
