Chapter 3: Sephiroth Team's Escape

Jun 11, 2010 15:54

The power is out, a vehicle has been obtained, and Sephiroth has been found within the labs. In confusion, there is profit; with the nearby power plant still on fire and parts of periodically exploding, there will certainly be a chance for them to get away. All will not be easy for this group, however. Despite the confusion, their path will not ( Read more... )

United with Kira and Vega and with the current power outtage, their time to strike was now. The confusion, the chaos, there would be no order for the next few minutes. Not that it meant the situation was entirely in their control either. She'd been given some basic directions on where to locate Sephiroth, but nothing concrete. That left her to frowning, desperately trying to think of the next steps. But Elena wasn't a planner, she was a doer. Tseng was the one who thought of the ideas. Tseng...

She'd opened her mouth to say something to Kira and Vega, but quickly melted against the nearest wall at the sound of footsteps. Fast ones. Within a few moments, a woman appeared in a lab coat heading down the hall. Motioning for Kira and Vega to come towards her, she pointed to the woman and pressed a finger to her lips. "Follow my lead," she whispered to them before jogging forward.

"Hey! Doctor!" Elena called down to the hurrying woman.

Vega pulled herself against the wall alongside Elena and watched as Laylee hurried down the hall. A slight smirk crossed the ex-SOLDIER's features as she remembered the conversation she had shared with Laylee much earlier in the day. Who knew such a lovely day, and a slightly disturbing conversation would turn into a loss of power in Gongaga and soon the disappearance of Sephiroth.

At Elena's cue to follow, Vega jogged after her, watching Laylee. She would lead them to Sephiroth, somehow. If she thought they were there to make sure that herself, the staff and Sephiroth made it out securely, even better. That'd mean it'd take even less time to get out of Gongaga.

We're getting you out of here

Well it was obvious that the power was out, for whatever reason. Of course they were going to have to transport him somewhere else. But there was that nagging, near instinctual hunch. This couldn't be the opportunity, right ( ... )

T__T RIP Dr. S. Laylee sephiroth_san July 9 2010, 16:22:45 UTC
Sephiroth held firmly his position until it was over, un-phased by her noise, her final prayer, even by her blood as it dripped from her chin to dance on leather. Only then did Masamune's angle reduce and Sephiroth stepped back to withdraw the legendary blade from it's carcass.

But this illusion was short-lived, this momentary return to his full strength. Sephiroth had done what was needed and now done it seemed the very specks of lifestream which had claimed his victims soul were eating away also at his own resolve. The firm grip he had managed to force upon this power was slipping like sand through his fingers. It ate away at his clothing, dissolving it like a smoking cinder except once dissolved the ash vanished into the nothing from whence it had come.

A few dots of blood hit the floor near to the fallen scientist and his attention was drawn to them. It was his, fallen from his multi-punctured arm. Masamune was already gone and the rest of the illusion shattered like glass stretched too thin.

Mother He thought loudly, hoping ( ... )

Bye-bye Dr. Laylee! T.T puisne_turk July 9 2010, 16:44:53 UTC
Everthing happened so quickly Elena wasn't even sure what had happened. She'd gotten the last clasp undone, as had Vega, and Laylee was throwing a fit. Understandably, of course, because they'd let loose the greatest disaster to hit Gaia in all of the planet's history. It was understandable that the good doctor should experience a short wave of panic ( ... )
