Aerosmith

A week ago, the 'heavy metal mutha' and I went to Hyde Park to see Aerosmith.

With me kinda large and unwieldy and Mum limping as she had torn ligaments slipping on a bus a few weeks before, we made quite a pair.

Anyway, made it into London to meet november_girl and ephraim for lunch, and then wandered down to Hyde Park. Slowly. We lost them not much later - thanks for hanging around guys - we just couldn't keep up!

We did have an amusing moment when we went off to the first aid point to try and find somewhere Mum could adjust the brace she is wearing on her leg. The expressions as they watched me approach were quite funny - the relief when they realised it was Mum, not me, that wanted them was palpable!

It was wet. We got very damp.

Saw a little bit of The Answer, who seemed pretty good - the singer works ever so hard and has great hair. I might investigate them further.

Chris Cornell was ace. I confess I know his more recent stuff & Audioslave much better than the Soundgarden stuff, but I loved it all.

I rather enjoyed Aerosmith too. I have wanted to see them for ages. They came on later than expected, leading to a set of about 1 1/2 hours - not really long enough. We couldn't really get close enough to the stage to actually see much of the band in the flesh, which was a shame, but we could see the big screens.

On the whole, I would have preferred to see them in an indoor venue, or at least when I was mobile enough to get a bit nearer, but I'm glad I went.

Woke up the next day - felt like I'd been marathon running again!
