You cannot escape...

It's almost August. Where DID the summer go? My theory is that it has passed so fast because we had all that rainy and cold weather. Now that it's finally sunny it actually seems like summer. It's supposed to be 90ish for the next two days. If the Lake wasn't so disgusting, I'd be tempted to go swimming. But then again Lake Oswego used to be Sucker Creek, so that's got to say something. I'm torn between liking and hating this hot weather because it makes it seem like summer, but then I end up with no energy and hiding in the coldest rooms of my house in between running from one air conditioned building/car to another.

The past few weeks...
•I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I liked it despite it being slightly freaky/strange. I thought it was funny and Johnny Depp did do a good job.
•My sister got passes to an advance screening of Must Love Dogs. For a romantic comedy it was pretty funny and I enjoyed it. There are definitely some money quotes in there.
•Went camping! YAY! Trillium Lake was oh-so-pretty. When I find the pics I like best, I will post them. :-) I think that everyone had a great time. Smores and other yummy things were much fun. Despite getting a sunburn, I would have to say that everything ended up great.

I think if there's an addiction to reading, I probably have it. Thank god for Powell's and used book stores. And the library of course. I've lost track of the number of books I've read this summer, but next on my list is a book called The Sentinel, which is being made into a movie starring Keifer Sutherland and Eva Longoria among others.

Last notes:
•Saw Kaylie working at Coldstone. It's too bad they didn't sing more, but it was fun to get free ice cream and see people
•My parents are slowly getting closer to getting the upstairs finished...the flooring is almost done!
•I really, really, really need to start cleaning my room...I can hardly walk through it.

the Wit

(52% dark, 30% spontaneous, 5% vulgar)
your humor style:
CLEAN | COMPLEX | DARK

You like things edgy, subtle, and smart. I guess that means you're probably an intellectual, but don't take that to mean you're pretentious. You realize 'dumb' can be witty--after all isn't that the Simpsons' philosophy?--but rudeness for its own sake, 'gross-out' humor and most other things found in a fraternity leave you totally flat.

I guess you just have a more cerebral approach than most. You have the perfect mindset for a joke writer or staff writer. Your sense of humor takes the most effort to appreciate, but it's also the best, in my opinion.

Also, you probably loved the Office. If you don't know what I'm

Well, it's off to find out if I'm on my own for dinner or if we're just going to end up eating at like 9 or 10.
