We were flicking through a couple of mainstream parenting mags yesterday and in one we found an announcement that they were following WHO guidelines, stopping all formula advertising in their magazine and promoting extended breastfeeding, this made us very happy.
Then we opened another magazine and there was a Nestle formula advertisement proclaiming that they are the 'global leaders in infant formula' what, so you're all proud of killing babies now?
That made us angry.
Danny's crazy stepmum from hell (seriously, crazy mother in law, I have this one in the bag) has started asking me "When are you going to wean?" as have a few other people in my extended family and a couple of women at storytime have started offering me weaning tips, give me a fucking break and stfu.
Apparently i'm a pedophile and our daughter is not getting any nutrients anymore (those sneaky little nutrients just dissappear after 9mos you know), ever comfort feeding is making her too codependent and she needs to start on dairy foods because milk from a cow is much more nutritional for toddlers than any milk I can make.
Oh, sorry, should I start breastfeeding calves? my milk is clearly more nutritional than their mothers milk.
