It's time to look up
It's such a big lie....the enemy wants us to believe that when we accept Christ that's it - we just have to live holy and right lives, not lie or sin, then we reach heaven and live a life with God and Jesus on the throne. It's such a subtle lie but it's developed into religion until we can't separate it any longer. Until it seems right to pass judgement on people who don't live like we live. Until it seems perfectly natural to put on a smile and say God bless but feel empty inside, craving more but not knowing what more is. Until it seems right to have a whole bag full of burdens that we get out of bed with every morning and we add to daily.
What!!!
NO! No wonder we are stuck, no wonder we crave for more because this is not what we were designed for - we were made for more than this and there is more than this! Don't accept the lie.
Accept the sword. Accept the shield. Accept the helmet and belt. You are called to be a warrior bride. Warrior - why are you called to be a warrior - because heaven is on earth but we are missing it because of the lie. The lie that we won't be with Jesus until we get to Heaven when we can be with Him right now! He is here, among us, with us, in us - if we acknowledge Him.
Therefore, warrior, fight the lie. Fight the enemy. Fight the mundane. Accept the armour given by God for this very battle. Why would He have given it if we were never going to use it.
Bride - because He loves us. Oh how He loves us! We can't truly get a grasp on this until we realise Heaven is on earth, that we can be with Him now. This love and this promise is for Heaven- but heaven is for every day. Everyday He wants to be with us, He longs to spend time with us and to answer that heart cry. He can't wait til the new earth comes any more than we can to be together.
I was thinking about why we need gifts and why gifts of the spirit were given. Heaven governs earth and Heaven is on earth - so the gifts are to bring people into a deeper relationship with God - to bring His name, His power, the knowledge of Him, for His glory, for awareness and for His work. There is one spirit but many gifts - but all of them bring Jesus, all of them are designed to make disciples of all men - reaching people in different ways and where they are at. They help people become unstuck and look towards Him. They make us to know that Heaven is on earth. The greatest gift given - the ultimate gift - LOVE - relationship. Do our lives and our gifts point towards Jesus and that relationship and that love? Or do they point to us? Have we been released into our calling and into the gifts by refusing to believe the lie that our life with Him doesn't start here on earth?
Lets not be stuck anymore. Lets accept our armour and our gifts and glorify His name here in earth - revolution. I feel like what Jesus did on the cross was so much more than we realise and yet it was simply to bring us to Him, to be with us and allow us to be with Him. Today. Tomorrow. Forever.
It's time to look up.
