Random LOTR post
So...last July (on the 15th I might add) I decided to be bad and pre-order the Boromir statue that Sideshow was putting out with him in all his Gondorian armor. I actually think I can blame sakurazukalori for introducing me to the statue if I remember right ;) Last week on Friday (June 15th) I got a shipping invoice - FINALLY - for Boromir. Naturally he showed up Tuesday when I was feeling crappy. But tonight, since I felt better, I got him out of his box and all set up (well mostly). And just - squee! He looks so good and so much like Sean *happy dance* And he's big. Really big. Kinda takes up more space then I planned on - oops.
The only downside is when I was putting him together we found one small design flaw in the flag *pouts* And in design flaw meaning I can't get the piece that fits to the top in to a point where it won't fall out and it actually chipped a part of where it is supposed to go *face palm* The chip is really tiny, to the point I can't reglue the chipped piece, and you can't tell it's there cause he's so tall and on a high shelf. But it looks great - and big - without the last piece on the flag staff so I'm just planning on leaving it off for the time being. After all, the only way it would sit where it's suppose to is if I super glued the piece in - which I'm not about ready to do that.
But if I ignore that little downside the statue is just so nice and it looks so much like Sean I keep walking by it and just pausing to stare. I know it was pricey but I did do a payment plan so I didn't pay for it all in one go, but it was worth it. And I have to admit I was a little surprised that all of the parts on Boromir himself I had to put together are held together with magnets now. I can tell it's been awhile since I ordered from them >.< Granted most of the other Sideshow pieces I have never needed to get put together outside of putting the figure or item on a base and lets just say Boromir was armless and headless in the box ;)
And before anyone asks, I'll try and get a few pictures posted soon. Right now I just have a few I snapped with my very old iPhone camera and I think he deserves a better camera for really posting pictures ;)
