Well as the subject says I'm finally doing my picture and random comment recap from SNAFU con :) Rather than making a separate post for each day, like I did with AX, I decided to condense most of it into one, although there will be a 2nd post coming shortly from my new Durarara!! insanity and swag. The reason I decided to condense the pictures is mainly because I didn't take nearly as many pictures at this con as I did when I went to AX. Joys of it being local, not as big, and just not really having the huge drive to take pictures at it.
And just so everyone knows the reason SNAFU is called that is it stands for Sierra Nevada Anime Fans Unite. Again, really weird name for a con but hey, it works. In the opening ceremonies this year they even mentioned realizing it was a weird name XD
Anyways, enough ramble and onto the pictures. Some of the cosplay I don't know for sure who they are but I'll do my best.

Friday September 9:
So this is from the opening ceremony with all the guests they had up on stage. I admit I wasn't around for the whole thing since I was looking around the dealer room during the beginning of the ceremony. But I did manage to go to the opening ceremony just when Darrel Guilbeau (Mikado from Durarara!!) was introducing himself, he's the 6th in from the left. And I must say, Darrel is all kinds of awesome now that I've gotten to do more than a quick hi and thank you like I had to when I met him at AX.
Not too sure what she's from but she was the first cosplayer I came across this year that was posing. By day 2 of the con I realized that part of my lack of wanting to take photos was the lack in cosplayers actually wanting to pose. Which seems really silly because honestly, if you go to the trouble of making a costume, wouldn't you want people to want to take your picture?
Ouran High School Host Club group. Left to right: Nekozawa, Honey, Tamaki, Mori, and Kyoya.
Kero from Cardcaptor Sakura - this was a really cute costume.
Kuroshitsuji group. Again left to right: Undertaker, Grell, Sebastian, and Ciel. This was the first group I've seen in person with an Undertaker.
Other than the opening ceremony the only thing I really did event wise was I did attend the video screening for Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood episodes 53 & 54. It was mainly a geek factor since I've already seen the eps (bought them through iTunes too) and own the DVD set but they are two of my favorite and I just wanted to watch them with other fans. There only ended up being like me and 10 other people in for the screening but it was worth it :D It was fun getting to hear people talk back to the screen and just talking FMA in general. I know I've said this before but I REALLY need more anime friends.
Saturday September 10:
Saturday morning I actually started the day attending a panel for all the voice actors they had at the con. There were 5 guests total and one was Darrel. I didn't take any pictures at all in that just because the rooms are so small and I was having more fun just sitting there enjoying myself. One thing I love about small cons over big ones is no lines. I got to the con right before the panel started and was able to walk right in and have a good seat. No 2 hour waiting :) The other "big" guest with Darrel on the panel was Quinton Flynn, which I ended up realizing after the fact voiced Carl in Blood+ - but it was just a really fun laid back panel.
I did have one moment where I was feeling kind of stupid though after the panel because the guests did an autograph session in one of the other rooms. It made me feel stupid cause while I got Darrel's signature at AX I couldn't believe that I didn't take anything to get signed. And for our local con the dealer room is most definitely not somewhere you can run and pick up something for signing. After the panel I did go wander around a little then I went to check out the autograph signing, which there was practically no one there, so I decided to go talk to Darrel. I told him I felt silly cause I didn't bring any of my Durarara!! merchandise but asked if he could sign my badge - which he did no problem. He asked me what kind of DRRR!! stuff I have and I said I had all the DVDs and that I actually met him at AX. He got all excited and asked me if I was in the line of people that just could have them sign one thing and move on, then he asked if I attended the panel. When I said yes he asked me how it was from the fan point of view since that was the first promotional panel he was invited on for the show. So yeah - I was actually really happy that I went to check out the autograph signing cause I did have a nice little convo with Darrel. It was fun hearing a voice actor talking about how blown away he is at fan responses and just being able to talk about AX :)
So on Saturday I ended up taking more pictures, and realized the lack of posing once I stumbled on a Kuroshitsuji meet up that were *gasp* posing. One of the guests at the con is a professional cosplayer and she was helping the group do some poses and just giving them tips for how to stand and make their costumes really work for them. I had a lot of fun watching this group.
Back row left to right: Undertaker, Ciel, Ciel, Grell, Sebastian, Ciel (which is a guy cosplayer - SOOO awesome). Front row left to right: Mey-Rin and Elizabeth. Mey-Rin was AWESOME. She won best in character during the masquerade :D
Another group shot.
This one I had to post cause I had another first the cosplayer on the right with the glasses is cosplaying William with Grell *happy dance* I haven't seen anyone doing William before and considering how much I am loving his character in the manga I was excited.
Grell and William - both are Grim Reapers for anyone that isn't into the series.
Sebastian and the male Ciel, which the male Ciel was just awesome. Typically you only see female cosplayers for Ciel and all the girls were telling him how awesome his legs looked. Like I said, these guys were really amusing.
And lastly Grell with Mey-Rin.
Durarara!! cosplayers - Izaya and Shizuo, the first ones I saw :) I was pretty excited seeing other DRRR!! fans that are local.
This was a friend of the pro-cosplayer that was posing the Kuroshitsuji group. I think she's from Final Fantasy but I can't swear to it since I don't really have all that much knowledge in FF outside of Advent Children.
Domo...I don't think there really can be much of an explaination for Domo. The cosplayer was really nice and kept walking around hugging people. I think by the end of the con I'd gotten 2 hugs from Domo XD The cosplayer ended up winning the fan favorite in the masquerade.
I know these characters are from Bleach and that's about it. The girl kneeling in the front is the pro cosplayer that was doing the posing for the Kuroshitsuji meet up :)
So on Saturday I did take a break and leave the con - joys of living here *g* - and went to get food. When I came back later that evening for the masquerade I ended up running into Wesker and Chris from Resident Evil. I couldn't really get a good picture of the Wesker cosplayer but I give him props cause he had contacts in to give him Wesker's upgraded eyes :)
Star Wars cosplayers - not really sure the universe they are out of but I LOVE the Boba Fett on the right. Although I've always been a Boba Fett fan, you know, if you ignore the Episodes 1-3. Either way the guys were a lot of fun to listen to since they were getting asked a lot of questions about their costumes.
Wolfwood from Trigun. This cosplayer is actually the Mori from the Ouran High School Host Club group as well.
Female Freddy Kruger from Nightmare on Elm Street. She was surprised when I asked to take a picture but I told her the costume really worked, she mentioned that she had to prove to the con staff that her glove was made out of plastic cause it looks so metallic.
These were the judges for the masquerade. I actually took a lot of photos during the masquerade but most of them turned out horrible due to the crappy lighting in the building - not to mention that a lot of people were standing up and getting in the way of the stage *grumble*
All of the winners on stage.
And a group photo of the cosplayers that were in the masquerade on stage.
And I didn't see a Pyramid Head at AX but I managed to see one here in town. The guy was really friendly when he was walking around posing.
So, the reason I took this picture was because you can see how he did the rigging for the head. I've always wondered how Pyramid Head cosplayers can wear the head piece, this way (motorcycle helmet) definitely makes sense.

Sunday's Durarara!! insanity coming up next with swag pictures :)
