I really shouldn't be up this late, but I am, and was surfing the net. Yesterday I found out Funimation got the rights for Dance in the Vampire Bund's anime in the US - which was a yay. Tonight I found out from one of my anime news sites they're looking at removing "scenes which are inappropriate for US viewing and are not essential to the storyline." You know...Funimation usually is really good at not censoring things when they aquire rights to an anime, which is why this is kind of surprising me.
Apparently the reasoning behind it is "we have determined the series contains controversial elements which, when taken out of context, could be objectionable to some audiences."
Considering I read the manga series I already have a pretty strong idea what they might be looking at cutting. Personally I think it's unnecessary cause if you see it as objectionable you shouldn't be watching it anyways. And it only can be seen as bad if you take the situation out of context. Blah :P
Guess I'll be watching this online with the Japanese cuts rather than the US. Or at least til I see how bad they edit it.
