Great deal for four-eyes

Hong Kong is the place to go if you need a pair of new prescription eyewear (minus airfare of course). My aunt took the three of us to the place where she's been going to get her eye prescription filled for many years. It took about an hour to reach tho by tram and bus.

The eye doctor was very thorough about checking everyone's eyes and I found out that one of my eyes actually requires less of a prescription. However, my glasses have the wrong number axis for my astygmatism. So I'll finally be able to see more clearly without having to tilt my head this way and that by next week.

Since my mom, david, and I were getting glasses we were at the store for at least 3 hours. With the exam, prescription, lens, and frames (also picked up a pair of sunglasses too) the cost came out to about 200 dollars. That is cheap compared to what it would've cost me in the US.

After we were done we went to go eat and had some awesome dim sum at a nearby restaurant (fish meatballs are yum). The place was packed even at 2pm and the restaurant has two floors.

The trend now for dim sum places is to check off what you want on a piece of paper that lists what's available. There are no longer people pushing carts around where you can see and choose what you want. I was thinking that's too bad for the people who can't read Chinese whatsoever. It'll definitely make for an adventurous eating experience for the Chinese illiterate.
