(Long) Fic: Misguided (Gen, PG) - for the Crowley's Fall Challenge
Finally finished this fic - despite exams - just in time to be in on the challenge! :D
Title: Misguided

Summary: Before Crowley, there was Crawly. And before Crawly, there was Gadrael …
Length: 6668 (including footnotes) I'm disappointed that it's not 6666.

Notes: For the “ Crowley’s Fall Challenge”. I couldn’t resist! I used one quote from Good Omens itself, at the very end; it’s italicised.
I based Hell on the Hell described in Milton’s Paradise Lost - especially the valley of singing angels, quoted below, and the stuff about the Hell-gate.
Paradise Lost, Book Two
… Others more mild,
Retreated in a silent valley, sing
With notes Angelical to many a Harp
Their own Heroic deeds and hapless fall
By doom of Battle; and complain that Fate
Free Virtue should enthrall to Force or Chance.
Their song was partial, but the harmony
(What could it less when Spirits immortal sing?)
Suspended Hell, and took with ravishment

I got all my information on angels from either Wikipedia or from this site. There, it gives the following information:
Gadreel (Gadriel--Aramaic, "God is my helper") - It was Gadreel who, reputedly, led Eve astray -- which, if true, would make Gadreel rather than Satan the talking serpent and seducer in the Garden of Eden. Like Azazel, Gadreel made man familiar with the weapons of war.
Gadriel - Chief ruling angel of the 5th Heaven in charge of wars among nations. [see Gadreel.] When a prayer ascebds to Heaven, gadriel crowns it, then accompanies it to the 6th Heaven.Galearii are the lowest ranking angels.
… and then I amalgamated the two, giving me Gadrael. *shrug* It seemed like a good idea, at the time. :)
